If your job had heavy lifting who would be more likely to loose the baby. A 4 week pregnancy or a 12 week pregnancy?

I would think at 4 weeks. My doc has me on rest but not bed rest. Restricted activity no heavy lifting, sex, cleaning ect. The said they usually lift the restriction some at 12 weeks if things are going o.k.

no heavy lifting at all is what I was told, early, middle or late. That includes my 4 year old daughter.

I think it would be a risk at any phase. It's a definite no no.

So the reason I was asking is because obviously I am the 12 week person in the story. I worked with a girl (there only 2 of us at one time), she just found out over the weekend that she is pregnant. At work we receive a truck in twice a week, I have had to do it 3 times total. This last time I did it the other girl offered. She kept saying I will do it. My place of employment is aware I have lost a baby a year ago, and has put me on restrictions of certian things. This makes them very cautious with me. So as the night continues she starts to ask, who is at more risk, she said "Well you are in your second trimester aren't you ok now?" So whatever I am not going to argue, I am aware your are at risk anytime. Plus I allready did it twice before. I didn't really care that I had to do it.

Well I didn't care then and I'm not one to judge idiots, I'm not one to have opinions but....
This girl smokes cigarettes, pot, and drimks. She tells me, "I will probably cut down on drinking to a glass of wine a week, and today instead of smoking pot 5x's I just did it once, and smoking, I've been smoking for 8 years I can't cut that back." "I can't just stop doing these things. " she says. "Stopping cold turkey will probably put my body in shock and kill the baby" This is her reasoning for this.

Now I am upset, she's not going to stop abusing drugs during your her first trimester and or maybe entire pregnancy, but I had to lift heavy objects because I was safer being in my second trimester.

People like this girl really piss me the #$%^ off. I don't mean to sound so harsh about it, but I can't believe someone who is suppose to care so much about losing a baby is going to harm it with these substances.

I could rant and rave all day due to the anger I have right now. I just don't understand how ppl can be so mindless, One minute they say one thing and the next they are doing something so oposite.

That is pitiful. But her only concern is convenience, sad but true. Blessings B

I don't blame you for being angry....I would be too. Obviously she doesn't care all that much about her baby....it sounds more like she was just trying to get out of doing the work.

Doesn't she know about all the problems with smoking and drinking while pregnant? And quitting cold turkey will put the body in shock......that's just a cop out.

Boy oh boy....that girl better open her eyes fast or she'll be in a world of hurt!
