well, i couldnt even look at the screen until she said there was a heartbeat but when she did i looked right over with tears in my eyes. sadly thats where the good news ends.

buttons is measuring behind. i should be 8.5weeks but i am measuring 7.5 weeks. i also have a blood clot and they suspect a UTI.
they gave me an emergency appointment because of the pain and bleeding (i wasnt TOO concerned because kara is so young and i had it all through her pregnancy but they discovered the blood clot is actually bigger than baby so could very well be the cause (aggrivated by UTI)

anyway, i now have to play the waiting game until my next U/S in jan which is going to make xmas real fun i also am worried because they told me i can expect to bleed more if the clot disolves but not to worry about it but at the same time tell me there is a risk of miscarriage because of this so how the heck would i know if it is from the clot of something worse?

sorry girls. i kind of got used to the fact i was going to have another baby but now the doubt has been made so much worse and i just dont know how to feel anymore
xxx

Great news about the heartbeat but sorry about everything else. I understand Christmas will be a hard one for you this year I'll be thinking about you and praying the time goes quickly to your next u/s.

I'm sorry you are so worried! Yay for hearing the hb. That's something positive to think about. You'll see that baby will have caught up by the next time you go for an u/s. I think the risk of mc with the blood clot is very small, so try not to worry about it. HUGS!

*hugs!* So glad that you saw a heartbeat! Could it be your O date is just off a little? I bet by next time your bean will have caught up . Just wanted to let you know I had a blood clot too the beginning of this pregnancy. I bled for a good 2 hours when I was around 5 weeks. I had a decent sized clot. I am thinking it was 4.5 CM. It has nearly dissolved into nothing now. That episode of bleeding was all I had and the bleed was all around the baby. Like You could see baby and the sac right in the middle of this big clot. Anyway, all is fine with my baby so far, so obviously the cloth had not affect on the pregnancy. Hang in there girl!! Think positive.

I def think your days could be off! Maybe your cycles were just a little off since you recently had your last baby??? Hopefully your body was still just adjusting.

Big HUGS to you. I know you have been in a similar position before, with your last. It doesn't make it easier, but remember there is still a TON of hope.

i have asked about having an U/S before jan but they just want to give it time to sort and that way if we go back and it hasnt then we have an idea there will be more of a problem with it.
my ovulation date is defo not off. by ovulation date i should actually be almost 10 weeks (i ovulate early and have long lp)

Sarah - I'm so glad that your u/s showed a beautiful little heartbeat. Try to take it easy over chirstmas. Maybe with the holiday's comming up, your next u/s in January will get here quicker than you think. Lots of prayers for you that your bub stays healthy and that your blood clot takes a hike.

I had a blood clot and a small baby this pregnancy too. I had two very severe bleeds and 10 weeks of spotting. At one point the clot was much larger than the baby, who was measuring 5-6 days behind. But the clot began to dissolve around 14-15 weeks, and the baby started catching up around then too.

Subchorionic hematomas (the fancy name for the kind of blood clots you and I have) are actually not uncommon, and in about 95% of cases they do not cause problems and dissolve on their own by 20 weeks.

I created this thread on the High Risk board with SCH resources: http://www.justmommies.com/forums/f1...rmalities.html (Placental Abnormalities).

You should come visit the High Risk board, there are a lot of us there who are having the same kind of problems.

Hey babe, sorry it wasn't all good news, but focus on the positives ... Button had a lovely strong heartbeat, and so many other people have gone through this and have come out of the other side still smilling :-) have faith in your body babe, it makes gorgeous babies, and this one will be no different.

Love you loads,

Me xxx

!!! I have two clots too - they found when I was spotting at 8 1/2 weeks. So far so good!!! Try not to worry! My midwives also said not to worry about dates being off by a week either way. Baby is so small right now - everyone measures differently.
You do know you should for sure be on pelvic rest (no sex, no lifting) and I was told to take it as easy as possible - until the spotting went away and I felt good. They also said to drink a bunch of water - to prevent cramping from irritating the uterus. big big hugs! I know it's scary - but it will very very likely be just fine!!!
