So tomorrow I go for my 2nd u/s and I'm terrified! My last 2 pregnancies were going along just fine and we got through the first u/s and saw the hb and then it went downhill and we m/c'd. So I had my first u/s last Wednesday (saw the hb) and now have my 2nd tomorrow (we go every week because of our history) and I'm terrified we are going to have the same outcome again. This will be a major milestone for us to get past but I can't help but feel like I'm setting myself up mentally that something is going to go wrong again. I've been trying to stay so positive but now I feel like I'm assuming the worst is going to happen again and I don't want to do that. I had alittle bit of mild cramping yesterday so I guess that is why I'm assuming something is wrong again but I'm just more scared then anything. If you could all think sticky thoughts for me I'd appreciate it (I know we all need sticky dust) and maybe just throw some good thoughts my way. I'd appreciate it....sorry for going on and on but thanks for listening!

First off, I will pray that everything works out great. Second I want to ask if they found any reason why you miscarried before. And I ask this because I have had 4 m/c's and after the last one my doctor did some test and found that my body sees the baby as a forgein object and tried to get rid of it by cutting off the blood supply to the baby which ends in m/c. He put me on the low dose asprin 81mg and he said that for whatever reason this corrects the problem and things will progress fine. It is perfectly safe to take and will not harm the baby. I too had good early ultrasounds and seen the heartbeat and then everything just stopped. But this time with the asprin things have gone perfect and I am now 30 weeks. It may be worth asking your doctor about taking the asprin. Your story sounds very close to mine. Very early in this pregnancy I had some cramping and some spotting, but as soon as I started with the asprin it stopped. Good luck to you and try to stay postive.

Hi Holly,
We've had a TON of testing done!! After my 2nd m/c we demanded testing and the only thing that was found in my bloodwork and my husbands was that I had MTHFR (genetic defect in me that doesn't allow me to produce enough folic acid) so I went on 5mg daily of folic acid and my OB did in fact put me on 1 81mg baby aspirin daily he said as a precaution. He felt that it could help us as it had other women he treated. So I was taking that when I m/c'd the 3rd time unfortunately. We left our OB after the last m/c and started working with a fertility specialist. We had all genetic testing done and I had an HSG as well as my DH having a semen analysis. After all that unfortuantely nothing was still found as to be a cause for us - not that I wanted something wrong but the fact that we know nothing isn't that comforting! I am now on my prenatal, the baby aspirin, the folic acid as well as progesterone so I am hoping this will do it but the cramping is making me nervous. I hope I make it to the same point you have!! Thanks for sharing your story with me and for your words of wisdom!!
