If you are/were on low dose aspirin during your pregnancy, when did/will you stop taking it???? Obviously I'll ring my m/w about this on Tuesday, but I'm now 28w & am wondering if I should still be taking it???? I know most women go off it during the 3rd trimester - at some point, but was looking for some personal experiences...

I'm so terrified that i'll stop taking it & then Emersyn will die... or something else bad will happen....

I was on it for a while and my OB wanted me to stop a couple months ago. I was put on it by the RE that I saw after my miscarriage in July. I got pregnant right away and he said to go ahead and take it. Since I was pregnant, they called and told me I didn't need to see them anymore and to go to my regular OB (who never would have put me on it). He wanted me to stop as soon as I told him about it but I didn't.. not for a few more weeks. But I have been off of it for a while now and everything is good. When I told my OB about my test results, he didn't seem to think I needed it at all.

So.. I actually can't tell you anything about when you typically stop taking it because my OB stopped me a lot sooner than I have read women typically stop.

I took it on my own and stopped at 12 weeks. I have no idea what the recommended time is though.

I really think it depends on why you're taking it, so your Dr or M/W will definitely better know than me... but I'm on it for my blood clotting disorders, and I don't plan on stopping it ever (during pregnancy or beyond). My MFM doesn't care if I take it and how long I take it for. It does cross the placenta, but for me, that's a good thing. I know other doctors think differently.

thanks ladies... I'm pretty sure my m/w said I should stop taking it around 27w, but we were going to discuss that at my next appt - BUT then she ended up needing 6 weeks off for surgery.. I might stay on it until my next appt, which is in 2 weeks...

Same here...I'm on it and will just take it the whole time. And I will probably take it after I deliver as well.

I am also on the baby aspirin.. I think My Dr said he wants me to stop it week before I deliver... Since it is a Blood thinner.. and with twins I have a high chance of a c-section. As for the Prgesterone... I took my last one on Friday night... So we will see.... I'm still a little on edge.

Good question. I started taking it on my own and I have no idea when to stop taking it. The week before I deliver sounds good to me.

My RE told me to stop taking it at 36 weeks. However given the fact that all my kids came 1-2 weeks early, I think I will stop around 32 weeks, just to be sure. They say that you should stop about 2 weeks before you deliver to avoid any bleeding issues.
I would definitaly ask your dr. what he recommends for your situation.

I just stopped taking it... My OB told me 36 weeks to be on the safe side.

I felt the same way about stopping taking it, that something terrible was going to happen to Addison! And I'm still nervous about it, but things are fine.
