I asked on my ddc but thought i'd throw it in here too. my dd has what they call a SUA. Single umbilical Artery. an umbilical cord is supposed to have two arteries and one vein. The internet info I've found is NOT reassuring? Anyone have any experience with this or know anyone who has?
yes, she is the one that told me about it. but sometimes dr's downplay stuff esp if what I found on-line is any indicator. I was just looking to see if anyone here has experienced this or know's anyone who has... thanks.
I am just looking around here, I usually hang out at the TTC and TTC after loss board. My cousin is 37weeks pregnant right now and her baby also has SUA. The Dr. doesn't seem too worried, she has been very closely monitored throughout her pregnancy but everything seems fine so far. The Dr.s did tell her this is common with downs syndrome and she is 37 but so far they really don't think this will be the case and they think everything will be fine. I hope everything will be fine with your baby too.
I just found your post and thought I would give you some encouraging news. My friend is 36 years old and just had her 2nd child. Her 1st was a healthy little girl. With the second they began watching her more due to her age. They found that the baby had SUA. I know she was nervous and very anxious. They watched the baby and everything developed normally. About 5 weeks ago she gave birth to a beautiful healty baby boy.
