First my eventful weekend.

The cumulative stress of my high risk issues and my three losses this year has made me kind of neurotic. Really neurotic actually. So when Friday I got a headache that would not go away and my BP went up a little, I flipped and because convinced I had pre-e. We went to L&D. I did not have pre-e, but my headache was still bad so they gave me something to help (it did) and sent me home.

I have a gastric lap band, which is a weight loss device. Basically a balloon around my esophagus. Grant thought that it would be fun to jam himself into it, so my esophagus closed and I couldn't eat and drink. Back to L&D where they got him to move and rehydrated me. They also determined that it was his HEAD on my band - he flipped to breech!!! My little jerk.

Big Big news:

I had my 36 week visit today. BP when I got there was 159/103 It came down to normal when I rested of course, like it does every week, but my doctor thinks it's time for Grant to come out. She said there is no real advantage to keeping a mature full term baby in there and waiting for something bad to potentially go wrong. I am 37 weeks on Friday, so we will do an amnio on Thursday afternoon to check for lung maturity. We'll know by the evening if he's ready to come out (pretty likely, diabetic babies' lungs mature faster for some reason), I have a c-section already scheduled for 9AM Friday.

Grant is doing well, heartrate was 140s, and he was running from the Doppler like usual. I'm relieved that he'll be here so soon, the cumulative effect of all of the high risk issues and crappy adverse events these last two pregnancies has left me a neurotic, hypochondriacal mess. Every headache, I think I have pre-e, every mild blood sugar elevation I think I broke the baby, every night there is anxiety and nightmares. Which just makes my blood pressure higher!!! I know the worried don't stop when the baby is born, but at least I will be able to check and see that he's breathing every 15 seconds or so.

Woooooooooooooo for a baby!!!!!

I'm so glad he'll be here soon too!! I'm sure that as you got closer to your due date your stresses would only have gotten worse - at least you know he will be out safely in a few days!

That IS big news! I know that feeling of worry that your body will hurt your baby....it sucks. I'm glad that your doc is taking your concerns very seriously. Get some rest these next few days!!
