Our wonderful dog died a little over a month ago and we miss him terribly. Our son, who is seven, has been so sad without a dog. I finally gave in and bought him a puppy today. It is an eleven week old dachshund and is the cutest thing. About an hour after getting him home, I thought, "what was I thinking?" He has been good so far, but I am bracing myself for the worst. I also have a question: I know toxoplasmosis pertains to cats, but is picking up dog poo a threat too? I'm the one who will be doing most of the housetraining, so just thought I would ask. I think this is one of those things that we moms do for our kids because we hate to see them unhappy. Unfortunately, I think I will be paying for it!
