Hi Ladies,

My name is Jorien, I live in Texas and I have had 3 early losses since November. Today, I am 4 + 5 which is the furthest I've ever gotten.

My doc found my blood clotting disorder after loss #2, but did not feel that I should be on any blood thinner besides baby aspirin until I got a +hpt. I told her I didn't feel comfortable with that since the +hpt seemed just about too late for me. I had my third loss without getting a +hpt, but I just knew as the pattern was the same. My doc still refused to put me on the blood thinner. I knew there were women out there that had to be on a blood thinner post-O and not waiting for a +hpt or they would have losses.

So, I found a doc who listened and took me seriously. I started Heparin 4 days after O and progesterone 5 days after--would've started them sooner after O but pharmacy didn't have them in stock. I don't know that I need the progesterone, but we are using it as an extra precaution.

I believe starting these meds when I did is why I have been able to make more progress this time around.

Since the doc that prescribed the meds for me was a specialist (RE), he sent me back to my regular doc after we knew I was pregnant. My regular doc actually had a nasty attitude that the RE had prescribed those meds for me AND she acted funky because I did not want to switch from Heparin to Lovenox. She told me she would not write refills for Heparin and she said "fine if you want to give yourself more shots a day." She is not my doc anymore.

Anyway, I am wondering if you have had two or more losses, are you on a different "plan" for this pregnancy?

Congrats on making it this far! After my third loss, my OB suggested I try progesterone, which I used 12 wks in my fourth pregnancy (first successful, my DD is now 15 month old) I started progesterone immediately in my fifth pregnancy, but m/c at five weeks anyway, though something didn't "feel right" from the beginning. I am now 4 wks 6 days, and my first HCG looked good 940.60 and my progesterone was at 33.1 but we started Prometrium yesterday to be on the safe side. First ultrasound is Monday. My OB was supportive, ran tests to rule out everything we could after the third loss, and seems to really listen to me. I'm hoping for the best this time and trying to be positive. I can't imagine going through a pregnancy with a doctor who isn't as concerned and sympathetic after your losses. Good luck finding a new doctor who is okay with not always having all the answers and a willingness to try whatever works!

Hi Crystal,

Your little girl is adorable--I noticed the cute pic yesterday!

Question for you: You are having an ultrasound on Monday. Do they expect to see something by then? I am going to my first appt. with new OB next Wednesday, will be 5 +4, but I don't know if I want an u/s. I am guessing it will be too early to see anything and I don't want to put myself through the stress of "what if" if it is indeed too early to see anything.

I'm on progesterone after two early losses in a row. Seems to be working so far.

I am on progesterone, baby aspirin and a heavy dose of folic acid. My second trimester loss was to a neural defect, hence the extra folic acid. The progesterone came after my 3rd loss which was a blighted ovum. My other losses were all chemical pregnancies. My old ob was NOT helpful at all. So I researched and tried the baby aspirin on my own, so far it is helping. I see my new doc soon, just getting ins stuff straightened out. Hope he doesn't freak that I am taking it...

Lets see I had a blightend ovum, fetal loss and a chemical pregnancy. Because all my losses were diagnosed as such my OB didn't feel the need to test for clotting disorders. However because I wanted to do something I started taking baby asprin.

I am sorry for your losses and the uncertainty of this pregnancy.

In my first U/S at 4 weeks we saw a blip:

Four weeks later we saw a fetus and a heartbeat
