I am 33 weeks and 5 days! Baby is doing good. He never tells me how many weeks I am measuring, just tells me everything looks good. He did tell me baby's heartbeat was 147. He has never told me before My OB said to schedule an appointment for 2 weeks and then after that we will go every week!! He also said that at our next appointment we will schedule a u/s for the next week (so 3 weeks away) to see how big baby is!! I never had a u/s in my 3rd trimester with Abrielle.

Oh, and he will start cervical checks at my next appointment!! What else... My hubby asked him when I would be full term and the OB said at 40 weeks. I thought that was weird because I have read it is like 37 weeks? I mentioned that I thought that typically baby's lungs were developed by 37 weeks and he said, "not always". He also made a comment about how they won't induce until after 39 weeks. I never even thought about being induced. DD came on her own at 38 weeks. I know this baby could be different, but I have a feeling he will come on his own too.

Oh, last thing. I told him about my fear of the cord being around baby Cole's neck (since DD's was around her neck). He said it is very normal and he is surprised when baby's are born without the cord around there neck. He said not to worry... so I am trying not to. He also told me to start monitoring Cole's kicks. He never told me to do this with Abrielle either so hopefully I do it right!

Sounds like a great appointment!!! Your ob was right about babies lungs my son was born at 36 weeks and spent a week in the NICU because he couldn't quite breath on his own yet. Where as some of the babies in the NICU where born at 32 and 34 weeks and were only there because of weight - they could breath fine on their own. Each baby is different. YEAY about seeing your OB weekly soon! and the u/s - that's awesome!! you're in the home stretch mama!!!!

Sounds like a great appointment. I think it was just being funny about the 40 weeks. technically you are considered full term after 37 weeks and they won't stop labor if it should happen. Yay for getting an u/s in 3 weeks.
