Just wondering, was anyone else nervous, about stopping baby aspirin??? I have been on it since 6 weeks, my m/w put me on it as a way to possibly prevent a m/c - I guess I will never know if THAT was the reason I didn't have another early m/c.. but anyway..

She has told me to stop taking it at 35w... ie tomorrow, and I am feeling nervous about it? I'm paranoid that I'm going to stop it & something is going to go wrong.. even though I know my m/w wouldn't be taking me off it, if that was likely to happen....

Am I the only one that's been worried about this????

I'm supposed to stop at 36 weeks and I'm actually thinking of stopping a bit earlier. My RE put me on it as a preventative measure and because I was taking progesterone, but I think it's okay, especially now to stop. The baby is so big already and I don't have any clotting disorders. I think I will stop around 32 weeks.

I have to stop in a few weeks....I'm not as nervous now that I know and understand that the baby's blood vessels are MUCH larger now than we he was in the first trimester. So, any potential clots shouldn't be an issue in the full term baby. (my perinatologist laid it out for me and it made sense...I would ask for the full medical explanation if you are worried...it definitely reassured me)

I took it all the way until 36 weeks and went into labor the next day! I was so scared to stop taking it. I had no issues with bleeding during delivery and the drs. were not concerned at all. A lot of women take it all the way through the pregnancy as it is such a small amount it really doesnt cause any damage. If you have concerns maybe talk to your dr. about staying on it longer.

thanks ladies...

because i'm having a c/s, my m/w has advised against staying on them any longer than 35w - because of the increased risk of bleeding... particularly if I happened to go into labour early.. I know that everything is going to be okay... I just have this stupid, irrational side of my brain, that is always saying "what if".. urgh i hate it

I was only able to take it for a couple of days. It was causing my asthma to get worse.

I am supposed to stop taking it 2 weeks before delivery, but that was when I was going to be induced at 38 weeks, now I'm not, I don't know when I'll have to stop taking it, and when I do I think I will be worried the whole time.

I started taking it on my own after my third loss in 6 months. I have no clue when I was going to stop, since I am usually induced after my due date and I get the feeling from my doctor that he'd like to induce me the day after my due date and not wait the whole two weeks I am pushing for.
