Sorry I haven't been around the last few days... I have had a lot on my mind... On Tuesday we went for our ultrasound. Everything looked ok. I went to work Wed night and pulled up my Ultrasound report. As some of you know I work at the hospital were I have all testing done. Baby A has what they call intracardiac echogenic focus (EIF), this is a bright spot on its heart... While It maybe nothing. Some times it can be an increased risk for Downs or Trisomny 18. So I have just been having a hard time with swallowing this... With three losses... I was just starting to feel I could breath.... now this. I go in for my level II u/s on June 15th. So Hopefully we will have more measurments and Have my bloodwork back.... And please pray my blood work comes back ok.. That is the intergrated screening.. These are all "soft markers".. The NT scan, the EIF, and the intergrated screening. If any of these come back + for DS... They are only concsidered "Soft Markers" But with my history, my Age.... I am just scared. I have been crying for the past couples of days... I have PM's some JM members that when I searched the form, and they have eased my fears alittle.. but I am still so scared. Please keep us in T & P..

Kary,
Big hugs! You are definitely in my thoughts and prayers. Our baby has a heart spot and a brain cyst, so I share your fears. We will not know until our June u/s if they have resolved, as one is a risk for Downs and one is a risk for T 18. It is very scary, but I have also read that both are very very common and rarely mean anything. Still, it is hard not to worry.

Lots and lots of T&P for you and your wee one. Oftentimes the soft signs turn out to be transient and nothing to worry about. I know a few women who had the IEF and it ended up being nothing. Hang in there and KUP.

Thinking of you and saying prayers that everything is fine! The tests are only screening tests, but I know it's impossible not to worry. You know you can lean on us. KUP

(((hugs))) As alot of people have said, it could just turn out to be nothing... but I totally understand your fears! I wish I could make it be June 15th already!!! I will keep praying everything turns out OK, please KUP. (also - is there any way you could call them and ask for an early US since there was something of concern on this one? I don't know if it would be too early to tell, but it might be worth a try?)

HUGS, Kary. I'm so sorry for the scary news, but all my thoughts are with you that all the next tests come back perfect.

Oh Kary, I'm sorry that you are so worried!! I will be thinking of you and the babies and hopefully everything will be okay. Keep in mind that with twins the bt sometimes come back positive, even if nothing is wrong at all. They are not as accurate as with a singleton. My sister had a + bt for downs but after some further testing everything showed up fine and her baby was perfect. HUGS!!!
