Good afternoon,

Because I have been unable to function without an antidepressant this pregnancy my OB is sending me tomorrow for a fetal echocardiogram.

Some antidepressants are strongly linked to heart problems. While the one I take is not of them, I am still very nervous about what they'll find.

We go tomorrow at 3 PM EST ~ Please, please keep my husband, sweet baby boy and me in your prayers & thoughts tomorrow.

Trying to keep my chin up and not be too nervous -- but you all know how it is. Thanks again.

I'm on an anti-depressant too, since I had severe PPD with Wesley. I hope it all goes well. *hugs*

Good Morning,

Thank you so much for your hugs. Did your OB order this test as well? I take Effexor XR. My OB said that Paxil is one of the most concerning antidepressants to take while pregnant, but he tests all of his patient's baby's hearts just in case.

Thank you all so much for your wishes and prayers. I don't know how I slept! At least my class has a field trip today so I can kind of zone out during the play we're going to see.

I just started Zoloft. I have never been on an anti-depressant before, but should have been with Wesley. It was dangerous. This time is more of a precautionary measure.

I hope your day goes well.

First of all ~ Thank you so much for all of your kind words and thoughts.

The doctor was looking for pulminary hypertension, which can be caused by antidepressants. He found no signs of this -- thank GOD!

Toward the end the pressure he was putting on my belly was uncomfortable to the point of painful -- but anything for my little guy.

I am not trying to worry about this part: he spent a LOT of time examining one ventricle in particular and was concerned that he may have seen a hole in it. After looking at it more and more he "concluded" that he doesn't "think" there's a hole, but wants me back in 9 weeks (when I am 32 wks) to double check.

Trying to stay positive and thank you again!

I was on Zoloft when I was pregnant with my son and he was perfectly healthy, and still is!

So glad everything went well!
