Dont worry Brittanie, I found that my tests dried darker, so maybe yesterdays test is just dry!
And there wasnt really a difference between my morning tests either. Weird. And you know what everyone says about there being different amounts of dye in each test and so on! I had to stop testing cause it was making me crazy. Im also not going to have any more betas done, so I dont make myself anymore stressed out than I already am! Im going to tell you, what I keep telling myself.... Have faith, try to make yourself believe in the positives, because the negatives will just keep dragging us down! Easier said than done I know. ~hugs~

Yeah, I shouldn't have tested this morning. And this was after the 2nd sat out for an hour. I nearly had a panic attack waiting for it to show up, I had to put it on the bathroom counter and go lay back down for 15 minutes or so and look at it again.

I think I'll save my last one until Christmas Eve so I can get a pretty dark line right away. lol

SEE!!!!! This is why we said NO MORE PEEING ON STICKS!!!!!!!! I was speaking from bitter experience of course...

The way those tests work, there are variations in the quantity of dye (and the enzymes that catch the dye in case of a positive) both within and between batches. The darkness of the result line DOES NOT indicate higher HCG in the urine, although SOMETIMES it SORTA does (if you get all tests from one really uniform batch like some of those nice "progressions" you see posted online), in general it REALLY DOESN'T. They are positive or negative - they cannot be compared in a "more pregnant"/"less pregnant" manner.

Not to mention the urine dilution... that can be all over the place too, even when you think you've held your pee the same amount of time as before.

Okay, speech over. I am sure you know this as well, but it, ahem, clearly bears repeating.

Tobi is right, the tests dry darker. By tonight the second one will be darker than the first. I have also found that you get a better progression if you test every other day! Then test are noticeably darker than the last. I personally think that your second test looks darker than the first!

I know I know, but I didn't want the tests to go to waste! I paid for them after all! lol

If I wasn't already in a fragile mood, at the OB's office today to confirm my pregnancy, one nurse says to the other "Does this test look positive to you?" and then turns to me with a confused look and asks "You did get a positive home test, didn't you?" My heart sunk to the floor. Luckily I'd thought to bring mine, and they liked those. Dr. took one look and said "yep, you're pregnant!"

ok, I didn't want to admit to this but......

You can see there isn't too much difference between the 10 and 12dpo tests. The 11 looked the exact same. These are only half the tests, lol. I tossed a whole bunch after I got my betas back.

Your tests look great. The second one actually looks darker and it will get even darker as it dries.

Believe me I know the temptation. I'm 30 weeks and I still want to POAS sometimes... just to make sure. But honestly it's not worth the torture!

congratulations Brittanie! I just knew Cora would give you a little something extra to celebrate this Christmas!!! I'm so ecstatic for you & DH, not to mention the big siblings!

regarding the darkness of the tests... DON'T STRESS... with Emersyn my tests didn't start being obviously darker than the last test, until AF was actually due
(I know it isn't a very clear photo, but hopefully you can see what i mean.) the last 4 are 13dpo, 14dpo & 16dpo)

Brittanie, I just went through this! The same exact thing happened to me. Now I have to go look for pictures..

Here they are:

Even though they were taken at different times the lines are still barely noticeable with the FMU test on the bottom. I wouldn't stress about the color of the lines at this point in time, it's still really early. And the Dr.'s tests are a PIA. I believe all Dr.s tests have a sensitivity of like 1000 cause they want to be really sure that we are pregnant and not just wasting their time. Did you have blood work drawn? Your Hcg #'s are what's more important this early in the game.

Please, try not to test until you're closer to getting AF.

Congrats Brittanie!!! Where are those tests from. The ones I had were the Equate multipack from Wal-Mart. I had two separate boxes and they both had very different results - colorwise. One box was faint like the ones in your pic and the other box of tests were dark.

Faint BFPs are hard for sure.... I guess I will jump in and share mine! I took at least 15 tests! Now that I look at them they did progress nicely, and yours probably will too. I was convinced that 13 DPO test was lighter than my 12 DPO test....

9 and 10 DPO:

10,11,and 12 DPO:

12 and 13 DPO:

18 DPO:

I just pulled them out to look at them, and I figured it out. The line on the second test fades in the center. It's dark on either end (I don't think darker, but at least AS dark), but really light in the center. Stupid test. lol

Thanks ladies. That's why I love this board. We take care of each other when we go crazy. lol

The new FRER suck

With Daniel mine actually got lighter at one point. I freaked out really bad. Especially seeing as it was my 3rd pregnancy in a 5 month time period

I never really was a big believer in the less/more dye/no indication of true hcg I just thought it was a way for people to make me feel better. LOL I can tell you for sure.... a lighter FRER doesn't mean falling hcg I will dig up my pics too if I can
