I'm curious if anyone has had this and about how much it costs...

I started spotting again this morning and the RN asked the DR about starting me on it, so he Rx'd it but I have to go pick it up from the pharmacy at another hospital then take it to their office tomorrow to start it. They'll give me the first one and teach us how to do it.

I'm still waiting on my ins to go thru, but it's still pending and usually they'll just bill them because it goes back to the start of the month. I'm hoping because I'm picking these up from the hospital they can do that as well.

Do they not want to prescribe Oral progesterone? It works really well. I suppose injectable will set in faster, but they don't usually use injectable unless they have diagnosed a need for it. They usually use oral or vaginal for the "try it and see" approach...

I think they also use injectable for preventing pre-term labour later in pregnancy...

I don't know why they decided to do it this way, but they're not huge on rx'ing it usually but will to help a mother. I guess they want to get it to work faster I'm not sure? But I just wish we could start it today, but tomorrow is better than another week away!

8 days until my 1st u/s and appt... sure hope the progesterone will help stop the spotting and make my uterus the loving womb it needs to be for widdle fighter bean!

That was so sweet

I have never heard of the injecible progesterone. I have the vaginal cream (which caused me irritation) and the pills (200mg).

Yeah that is the only reason I can think of to use injectable. It will kick in way faster than oral or vaginal.... Maybe you can do injectable for a month and then oral if you are worried about costs.....
