Yesterday when they did my ultrasound and some things left me thinking.

- On my right ovary they found leftover follies. The doctor said I probably ovulated from the right side.

Leftover? Don't they all go down your tubes each month? Why are they still there?

- They could not find my left ovary. She dug around in there (quite painful) and tried to find it but neither the doctor or the nurse could find the left ovary. They said it must be posterior.

What does that mean?

I know nothing about follies, but thought this was interesting. When I went in for my NT scan, they checked my ovaries. She said that "usually" th ovary you ovulated from and conceived, you will gte a cyst. So, my left ovary had a very large cyst on it and my right ovary was completely hidden. I didn't know anything about that ovary business, so I thought it was kind of neat.

Sorry, I know nothing about the rest of it though. LOL

Missy, usually whatever follies you ovulate from will turn into a corpus luteum cyst and produce progesterone during your TWW. If you get pregnant, the cyst will hang around and produce progesterone until the placenta takes over. It sounds pretty normal to me, but I'm not a doctor

I think your ovary being posterior might mean it's behind your uterus... I'm not sure what that means. If the doctor's not worried, you should try not to be though

Ok thanks... I will try to stop over analyzing every little thing . and yes, there was a corpus luteum cyst along with the follies.
