How do you tell your job you are pregnant? I am only 8 weeks but way to big to hide it anymore. I am at the point where I can't even say the weight gain is from quitting smoking.

I mainly work from home so it is not a problem as no one sees me. However I have 2 out of town client meetings now - one in 2 weeks and one in the middle of May. How do I tell my boss?

I'm waiting till I have no choice. But last time I just took an u/s pic in her office and told her I would be taking some time off in about however many more months. They are always super excited here though, they love babies.

I'm hoping to hold off telling till June, have to see if we can get away with it that long.

I think it's standard to tell around 5 months along, or whenever you start really showing an obvious baby belly. Missy, I highly doubt that you are big enough that they would say anything!!! And if they do, just say, "um, wow, I didn't realize I'd gained THAT much weight" and act awkward... they will shut right up And then you can all laugh about it when you tell your boss the truth around 5 months along

I found it awkward to tell my boss. I told her last time because I was taking sick days from morning sickness and tiredness, and then I had a miscarriage and had to tell her about that too, talk about personal information. It was real awkward this time because i waited until i was 12 weeks to tell her. (safe-point..somewhat) and because i'm only 21 she wasn't to thrilled about it lol. and started questioning me about why didn't i tell her before and all that. I also gave her my 2 weeks because i'm always tired and they get mad at me for being sick which i can't predict, plus i work in a daycare. I'd say wait till you're comfortable with it and then just let it slip. It's really no ones business in the workplace unless you're close with everyone.

Being military I am required to tell them as soon as I know. I had to get a confirmation pregnancy test and then get my OB referral. Soooo my boss has known since before my family . But I also have to tell them about my losses since I have to take time off for the D&C. Military is different like that. I doubt you have to tell them but if you feel like it just be honest.

You can really tell that I am pregnant. I think it is a combination of the 20lbs I gained in the last 5 months, me being 42, and this being my 4th baby. I can't really hide it - not even with a suit jacket. I am just going to have to tell them as I wouldn't want them to find out from a client. It is a very small company <15 employees.

I'm sure it will go great, Missy. I told my boss early with my last pregnancy as well because I was a student and didn't really have sick or personal time. I was so nervous- but it was great to get it out

I dread telling my work as well...especially once they realize there is a good chance that my maternity leave will be when everybody wants off over Thanksgiving and Christmas.
