When I first picked up my prescription there was a sticker on the bottle that said that and I freaked out (so did my DH honestly) I called the dr office and asked a nurse and she said it was fine. I don't know why it says that on it to be honest but I know tons of women have said they took it but it did alarm me as well. Ask your dr though! Are you taking it vaginally or orally (sorry to get personal!!) I took it vaginally and had no side effects (just always wear a pad if you are) and people that I know that took it orally seemed to have dizziness and more side effects.

Daniellle - You sound just like me when I picked up my script for the first time at the pharmacy. I sat there and grilled the pharmacist for 30 minutes before I left. I ended up calling my dr too and they informed me that it was ok.

I have been on the same dose as you since CD18. I haven't noticed any side effects. I take mine orally as well. I will say that I have not had the mood swings that usually comes w/being pregnant. Not sure if it has to do w/the prometrium or not.

I take mine until the end of week 13 (only 2 more weeks!!!). As my dr explained to me....the first weeks of pregnancy your ovaries are supporting the baby until the placenta is fully developed. Placenta development usually concludes anywhere from 10-13 weeks. So, your ovaries produce the progesterone during the first weeks of pregnancy, and if it is not enough, then they supplement. After the placenta develops fully, it takes over the progesterone.

Hope all my information helps!!! Any morel questions, pm me.

I keep trying to reply & it won't go through. I took 200mg 2 x's a day also. My DR assured me whatever extra progesterone I had that my body didn't need I would get rid of and it wouldn't hurt the baby. The only side effect I may have had was being really tired at first, but I was also pregnant so not sure what was the cause!

Okay scratch that, I took 300 mg a day and like I just posted it was before we ever got back the initial bloodwork, but once I started it they told me not to stop. I am thinking around 4wks into the pregnancy.. let me see if I can find the date.

Okay Jan 5th I started the prometrium and my estimated date of conception was like Dec8th, does that help?

I was on progesterone supliments until I was 14 weeks pregnant- I took the suppositories 2 times a day. It is safe and it helps to keep your pregnancy stronger so I am sure you are fine if the doctor prescribed it for you.
