So I went to my dr's appointment today. The baby is doing good and the heartbeat was 168...but overall the appointment kind of sucked.
Last month I had the gonorrhea and Chlamydia cultures/screening done so I was expecting to be able to keep my clothes on. But I get in the room to find out that the lab they send their cultures to got bought out by another lab and the stuff they sent out disappeared and it had to be redone today. Also I had a LEEP procedure done in 2009 so they informed me today that I have to go in for weekly cervix checks from 16-28 weeks. It's nice that they're being cautions but it blows I'll have to go in that often!! When I'm done with it I'll be to every 2 weeks and then back to every week for the last month...so I have one more monthly appointment and that's it. And of course I had bloodwork today to and they lady butchered my arm and used like a foot of tape that hurt like hades to take off. But they did say when we go in for our big u/s and if they can't tell the gender that they will do an in-office one to find out.
Aww sorry hun, that does sound like an aggravating appointment!! I remember being mad at the phlebotomist once, I was saying "I look like a freakin' junkie with these marks on my veins" - I didn't wear T-shirts for a few days it was so bad!!! It is really good though that they are being careful about your cervix after the LEEP procedure, better safe than sorry right??
And hey, baby is doing great!!!! So that sounds good to me. Of course I'm on weekly appts myself now (AND they are 1 hour away) so I don't feel quite so sorry for you
I know it's better for them to be cautious. I know somebody who lost twins at 20 weeks because her cervix opened unexpectedly...so I am glad they are going to keep a close eye on us. I guess I just didn't see it coming since the dr that performed the LEEP made it seem like any future pregnancies would be just like my past ones...completely normal. I feel a little blindsided. If I had expected the weekly appointments it would have been no big deal...just caught me by surprise.
