and I'm freaking about my appt! It will be the first time we hear the heartbeat via doppler, and I'm afraid that the last situation will play out again (listening and listening but nothings there...) Trying to stay calm but I always freak out before my appts!

At my 12 week appointment I heard no heartbeat, but ultrasound confirmed one, so don't panic (yeah, right).

Good luck and I hope you hear a great strong heartbeat! KUP!

hun!!!!! Ditto to the above, it is still a bit early to hear the h/b by doppler, but hopefully you will and won't have the stress of needing that followup u/s. Lots of T&P for hearing that magical thudthudthudthud ASAP today!!!!! Good luck and I'll be watching for your update!

My nurse yesterday told me that my doctor doesn't try to hear it by doppler until 15 weeks because it's so scary if they don't pick it up! Try not to worry if they don't.

Hmm, that's strange, my dr always tries if I am 10+ weeks. With my son I heard it at 10 weeks and same with my loss. I know if they don't hear it they will give me an u/s so either way I'll know but it's just that awful searching and waiting. It only takes them like 10 seconds to find the h/b on me but with my missed miscarriage (obviously baby didn't have the h/b anymore) they searched and searched and it was the worst feeling in the world!

I remember that feeling both times . I will be honest, I had it happen at 12 or 13 weeks. Freaked me out. I was trying so hard not to panic. She got the u/s machine and of course I am freaking out saying I don't see it, do you see it, I don't see it and starting to really panic. Of course it was there my ticker is still ticking right along. So if they don't find it try not to panic. My placenta is infront of the baby. Good luck at your appointment.
