I had my bi-weekly u/s todDay and the fluid level is low. I'm being sent to my see my OB right now, but I will probably be admitted. I thought I should post quickly in case my absence is noted. I am terrified I am going to lose my little girl but trying to focus on the fact that there is still a heartbeat. I will update when I can.
Sorry it took me so long to update. There is no internet in the rooms in this hospital. On Wednesday I was transferred to the high risk hospital about 2 hrs away from my home. They did an u/s and found the same issue (no amniotic fluid left) as well as the additional issue of fluid retained in her belly and measuring 2 wks behind. They had already given me my first dose of steroids before I was transferred, so they were monitoring her h/b for decellerations (no fluid means she could compress her cord and cause her h/b to drop) and as long as she seemed OK, they were going to leave her until the second steroid shot had a chance to work. The next morning they sent me for another u/s and said that her gross movements were reduced and they felt it was time to deliver. They started me on the mag, antibiotics, and a bunch of other things that I can't even remember, then they started my c/s at around 11:30 am. Chloe Elizabeth was born at 12:15 pm on July 14th. She weighed 2 lbs 6 oz. She is in the NICU and is doing OK. She was breathing on her own from birth, but they still have her on CPAP to keep her lungs open. They have started feeding her through a tube, but she isn't tolerating it very well. She is having issues with coagulation and they've sent blood for genetic testing to see if there is an issue there. The doctors do not know why any of this happened, why she had fluid in only her belly (retaining fluid can be a sign of many things, but it is unusual for it to be retained only in her belly), and they are under the belief that she is a 31 week baby due to my first u/s at almost 7 weeks measuring ahead. I've tried to explain that the math doesn't work, and that she is only 29 weeks. Long story short (there is so much I could say, but I'm running in circles and am so confused), we don't know what is going on. She is doing well as of right now, but I don't know what the long-term prognosis is. I don't know if the coagulation issues are a long-term problem - nothing. I am just hoping that she doesn't have a genetic issue and that everything can be resolved. I just want her to get big, healthy and to come home. I am probably being discharged on Monday, and then I am going to have to figure out accomodations closer to the hospital. Once I am released, I will try to update again and include some pictures. Thanks for thinking of us. We are so not out of the woods yet, but I think we are in a better place than I thought we would be on Wednesday.

I hope she stays in there a little longer!!! If my memory serves me correctly, you are over 28 weeks, right? So hopefully if they can keep her growing for even a little while, you could have a healthy, despite being early, little one!

I will keep you in my prayers. I hope this little one is your rainbow and you get good news at the hospital and they can get you a little further along in pregnancy. Lots of

Try to stay calm! I know it is next to impossible.

If you can get in the tub for a while, or a pool. Both help to restore the fluid levels. If they admit you, spend a lot of time in the shower, or if L&D has a tub that women can labor in, see if they will let you soak in it.

Has anyone heard anything from Laurie? Been praying for you and your little sweetie, Laurie. I had you added to my prayer chain...there are lots of ladies you don't even know out there praying for "Laurie and her baby girl." Hoping for only the very best!
