Thanks for all your postive thoughts. I just came from the NICU and I was given more of an explanation as to her condition. The pod doctor told me that the fluid in the belly is getting better without treatment and that they could see the kidneys on u/s and that they were fine. They are concerned about a cluster of veins close to the surface of her skin in the belly area. There is three possibilities for this, but I can't remember what they were called! One is just bruising, one is a cluster of veins that will grow as she grows and eventually disappear, and one would require surgery at a much later date. They don't seem very worried about any of it. The coagulation issues appear to be getting better, although the blood tests haven't shown improvement. Her bruising is getting better, and she is loosing some of her puffiness. She still isn't tolerating feeds very well, but they have said that they seem to be improving. All in all, she is doing well and they are happy with her progress. I can't get over how much hair she has! They had her off the CPAP for about a half an hour today while they took some blood etc, and she did great with that. The nurse told me that she can be transferred to a closer hospital as soon as she is off CPAP. When I tried to get an idea of how long that would be (I am trying to figure out accomodations and child care while I am here), and she said it could be two weeks if she handles it well, or it could be a month. I hope she continues to progress like the little star that she is. She is such a fighter and the nurses say she is 'feisty' and DH and I have started calling her "Her Serene Highness Princess Chloe" or "Her Serene Highness" for short. I will update again when I can. I know there are a lot of up and down days ahead, but I am so happy to have her and I treasure every minute with her!

Wohoo for improvement. I am so glad she is getting better. Continued prayers that she gets to move closer sooner rather than later.
