Hi everyone,

We went for our fetal echocardiogram today and everything looked okay. They said there are no major defects but they want me to come back in 6 weeks when he is bigger to see if there are smaller defects. I think that there are but nothing to be worried about.

My guess is that he will be monitored regularly by a cardiologist (my son was about 1 x per year but his hole closed quickly) and he should be okay.

We'll know 100% certain in 6 weeks but I'm finally breathing!

So far, we've been through:
- Fear of another miscarriage
- Possible increased nuchal translucency - ruled out
- My ER visit/subsequent echocardiograph for my own heart after heart palpitations - all is fine
- Possible hole in this baby's heart
- Oh, and I'm on pelvic rest for a low-lying placenta. This sucks as (TMI) right now, I'm in the second-trimester hormone increase. So frustrated! The u/s shows the placenta is still low but the doctor thinks it will most likely move. I'm STILL on pelvic rest but that appears to be the most of our worries now.

Breathing is nice

So glad your appointment went well today and that you are starting to breathe! I'm in a similar boat and today was a big turning point for me as well, so I know how you feel.

Hurray for no major heart defects!

Hopefully all this stress he's causing you will mean he's getting it all out now and will be a low-stress baby.

Silverlife,
Tell me about it. After all this worry, he'd better at least be a good sleeper .

Thanks everyone!

I'm so glad you had a good appointment! You have had enough worries this pregnancy! Sorry about the low-lying placenta, though.
