I found out I am expecting again a week ago. I have had 4 betas all 48 hours apart. I wanted to wait until everything was looking ok before I joined here again. But I am starting to freak out about my numbers. I know by the books they look great but why are they taking longer each time to double? (my numbers are in my siggy).

My EDD by my LMP is May 10th 2012 but by my O date it is may 13th 2012.
I have a EDD date of May 10th 2011 and I lost that baby last Oct so I hope that is not a bad sign.

Waiting to see what my DR office thinks about my numbers tomorrow when they get back in. My hopes are Ultrasound next week for Sac/HB check.

Congrats! Ar they going to keep doing betas or re they done? "Normal" is 48 hours, so you're still under that time frame. The doubling time is supposed to slow down over time.

congrats on your BFP!! I don't know much about numbers but I say since they are still doubling under 48 you should be good, I know it's hard not to worry though!

Thanks, you made me feel a little better. I was just not sure how quick they should be slowing down. I think I have trained myself now to look for the bad in everything after what all I have been through.

I am not sure what the plan is the DR office has been closed since Friday so I will see what message is on my chart or what they say on a phone call in the morning. Because of the ectopic last time he might follow me the rest of this week and then ultrasound next week, then I go in for weekly ultrasounds.

Congrats hon! I don't know much about betas either but I do know that the doubling process is more rapid in the beginning..you're still doubling up in less than 48 so that's a good sign!
I hope this baby is super sticky..at least for another 8 months or so! lol.

Congrats! This pregnancy I didn't even get a BFP until 14 DPO, so I think just the fact that you got a positive so quickly is a great sign!

Many prayers that this is your sticky rainbow baby Lindsey. Are you getting all your betas at the same time of day and at the same lab? That could be why there is a slight difference in doubling time. You are still under the 48 hours.

hCG Level and Pregnancy Tests: All FAQs | BabyMed.com got this information from this site. Hopefully it helps ease your mind a bit.
Within the first 2-4 weeks after fertilization, hCG usually doubles every 48-72 hours.
An increase of 60% in 48 hours is still considered normal
Below 1,200 mIU/ml, hCG usually doubles every 48-72 hours
Between 1,200 and 6,000 mIU/ml serum, the hCG usually takes 72-96 hours to double
Above 6,000 mIU/ml, the hCG often takes over four days to double
More than two in three normal pregnancies have a doubling of the hCG every 72 hours

Yes same lab and all draws were taken between 9:15am- 10:45 am.

Right now I am going to freak out until I see a sac/baby in the proper place to rule out another ectopic then the freak out to keep a heartbeat will begin.

I just realized I typed like a pirate. Stupid ipad. Anyway, ditto on enjoying the moment. That's what I've been doing. I can be miserable if it becomes time to be miserable, but I am not going to let myself mope about something that hasn't even happened. I know it's easier said than done. Let us know what the doctors decide to do.
