How long do you plan on staying in the hospital after birth? If you are going to a birthing center how long before you go home?

Yep, here it's the same way-- 48 hours from the time baby is born for a vaginal delivery and 72 for C-section. I don't mind having to stay that long because the minute I get home I'll be the mom of three being pulled in three directions! LOL I'll enjoy the quiet of the hospital as long as I can.

with DD (c-section) I stayed 4 days. I opted for 4th day, only 3 were required. This time if all goes well I will just do the 3 days, I was afraid to leave the comfort of the nurses the first time around, lol.

I'm planning a home birth, so hopefully not at all!

Last time I delivered in a free standing birth center, and we were home 4 hours after she was born. It was so nice to go to sleep in my own bed.

With the older 2 boys I was in the hospital for around 3 days. With Kyle it was 1 night. I had him at 1pm and by 7am the next day I was released. It was my idea to leave early. Thinking back I should have stayed in for 1 more night. I felt so rushed when I got back home.

I don't know how long you stay for a c-section, but here it's 24 hours, unless you give birth after 7PM or something, then you get 2 nights.

I"m staying home the whole time, since I'm planning a home birth. IF I end up in the hospital with a section, I will stay 2 days.

Its 48 hours vaginal & 72 hours C Section here.

I want to do the birth center because depending on the time you give birth you can go home with in 6 hours.
But my DR already shot that down. He said I will have to be in the regular L&D because of the blood thinners. I can still have a natural water birth just have to have more monitoring.

Here it is 24-48 hours for a vaginal birth and 3-4 days for a C-section. I am terrified of a C-section, so hoping for 24-48 hours!

24-48 hours, depends on what time you deliver...I hope to stay at least one full day/night after I give birth...Once I get home it's back to being a full time mom with no rest lol

Jax was born at 8pm on a sunday and we went home on tuesday afternoon. They gave me the option to stay one more night if I wanted.

We ended up going back that friday for the weekend since his billi was so high. They let me stay in a room since I was breastfeeding him. It ended up being the exact same room that we were staying in after he was born.
