I had NO caffeine during my first trimester and most of my second....but the last few weeks, without some caffeine I feel terrible....psychically sick, headaches, ect... I try so hard to keep bad things out of my body knowing the baby doesn't need them, but I am at my breaking point with this. How much caffeine is okay???

Caffeine is just fine. I know women that have a cup of coffee every day (not decaf). I personally don't drink coffee, but heck, if I need caffeine, I don't really care that I drink a whole Mt. Dew.

I think coffee is just bad in the 1st trimester, but I could be wrong. I technically do not drink coffee either, but I am a mad Diet Mt. Dew addict. That stuff is like water to me. I quit all caffiene right now, and I will stay off of it until maybe 20 or so weeks, just for my sanity.

They say to keep it under 200mg of caffeine a day is perfectly fine no matter what trimester. If you drink coffee, this is about 1 cup. But if you are drinking soda, that only has about 30 some mg per soda can...

I have always had a soda a day with all my pregnancies. With my last couple I cut out caffeine in the first trimester but usually picked the habit back up. I am actually trying to cut it out again because I need to lose some pounds . I wouldn't worry if you are just having 1 a day. Don't go crazy with a whole case though .
