I just got my doppler in the mail today!

What has the heart rate been for your babies? I THINK I found our babies heart. It said 135 bpm. Seems somewhat low but I am not worried or anything. I am a little bigger and have had a c-section so I am sure that might affect what the doppler picks up?

He/she sure likes to hang out on my left side a lot it seems LOL. That is always where we always find 'em hanging out (at home or at the doctors).
------
Update:

Tried to find a video on youtube similar to what I am picking up on my doppler...and I assume it is the heartbeat. I hear you can pick up placenta/blood flow sounds as well...so just kinda makes me curious if what I heard is the actual HB.

Here is the youtube video...this sounds exactly like what I am picking up. Just listen to 0:05 seconds till 0:15 seconds. The rest of the video is pretty pointless.

Fetal Doppler sounds - YouTube

Thanks!

As long as it sounds like that little horse running...135 is fine. I know they can vary widely. My boys have run high and then slowed to 140ish by the time they were born. All babies are different though.

Chloe was in the 150's most of the time, but 130's is completely normal. My son was always in the 130's at the doctor's office and u/s.

I got my doppler at 9 weeks, 1 day and the heart rate was 168. It stayed there consistently. Now that I'm over 18 weeks the rate has dropped a bit to 152 but it's been consistent. That concerned me a little but when I googled it I found that the heart rate is the fastest around 10 weeks and then can slow in the second trimester a bit.

It's so reassuring isn't it to find that wonderful sound.... =)

So glad you found the heartbeat. i got my doppler in the mail yesterday and thankfully found baby's heartbeat right away. This one was 157 but I think he/she was running a marathon in there. Baby kept moving around like crazy. The doppler is so awesome and so reassuraing. your baby's heartbeat sounds great to me.

seconds 5-15 all I hear is the placenta/blood flow...the beat of the heart is much much quicker whereas the bloodflow is a soft, slower wooshing sound.

This video has the quicker heartbeat sound: Using Angelsound Fetal Doppler baby heart beat monitor - YouTube

That's what I hear when I get the placenta/blood flow. The baby's heartbeat is much faster.

LOL don't feel bad, even now at 34 weeks it often takes them a couple minutes to find her heartbeat when I'm at the dr office, and even then she still squirms so much that it goes in and out because she's constantly on the move! It all depends on what way baby is facing and obviously how active baby is, you'll find it soon!

I would catch the placenta/blood flow if I put the doppler near my belly button. The only place I ever found the Heart Beat was on the Left side near my pubic bone. Like right near where you can feel your belly change. Then I found it every time

I had to teach my doctor where to find it.
