All is looking normal now ... so . Here are the highlights:
- I'm starting the 2 week appointments now! Eeeek!
- I get to have a growth ultrasound at 37 weeks because he was big at the MFM ultrasound .
- I have only gained 20 lbs so far so that's pretty good.
- Heart rate is 151 and has been pretty much the same at each appointment.

Only concerns are:
- Dr still hasn't been able to talk to my cardiologist (the one who read my echo report) to confirm that the 4 things they saw on the report are safe for pregnancy although a nurse told me so over the phone. She's not really satisfied and wants to talk in person to the cardio. She's going to continue trying to follow up.
- I had pregnancy hypertension with my son so we're going to keep an eye out for that but that's a typical concern.

I am sorry, I must have missed something. Are you ok? What is wrong with your heart?

Other than that looks like a great appointment!!

Sorry it took a while to respond. We had a busy weekend!

Here's the long version:
Several months ago, I went to the ER for heart palpitations which were managed by some magnesium and potassium while in the ER (never got them again). But because I'm pregnant, they sent me for an echocardiogram just to make sure there was nothing else going on.
The report from the cardiologist has 4 conclusions including mild mitral regurgitation and moderate tricuspid regurgitation with mild pulmonary hypertension.
My doctor is used to seeing these reports but they don't usually have so many things listed (1-2 is the norm) and she's worried about the hypertension and regurgitation.
She asked me to talk to the cardiologist to make sure that those things were "normal for pregnancy."
I called them and talked to a nurse who talked to the doctor who did my report and he said that they were and that they should go away after I deliver. I could go back for another echo if I want to 3-6 months after he is born.
I told my OB what they said and she said that she wished they would have set me up with an appointment to come in and review the report rather than conveying the message through the nurse.
So she said she'd call them herself and talk to the cardiologist one on one.
But the practice I went to has about 20 doctors and apparently it hasn't been easy for her to get hold of my doctor.
Her biggest concern would be if I ended up with cardiomyopathy during/after labor which she has seen before. My friend got it and nearly died.
I think I'm fine... I really do. But she's being very cautious as I would expect my doctor to do.

Thanks for asking, Missy!

Have the heart palpitations continued throughout this pregnancy for you or have they gone away?

I had similar palpitations in the beginning but thank goodness nothing showed up on the ecocardiogram (sp). ((hugs)) I hope it is nothing and you are ok.

I haven't had any palpitations since the ER visit.

I really think I'm fine and they're just being extra cautious!
