Hello everyone, I joined this forum in hopes of support since this is my third pregnancy. I suffered two miscarriages (very early on) and surprised to just now find myself pregnant again!

I am going to leave a bit of medical history so that others may help with some questions..

I am 23, My husband is 27.
I conceived September 2011 - miscarried September 24th. (tested early, miscarried when period was due.)
I conceived again in November 2011, miscarried on November 25th. (2 days late on period this miscarried.)
I found out today 20th of December I am pregnant again!
I have high blood pressure, I am on Methyldopa (safe for pregnancy) for it.
I don't smoke, drink or do any illicit drugs.
I took Depo Provera shot from March 2010 to December 2010, I was on Ortho Tricylin from March 2011 to August 2011.

Alright so after these two miscarriages my OB/GYN recommended a baby aspirin (81 mg) a day, I am on prenatal vitamins, he also said once I found out I was pregnant that he would call in progesterone suppositories to take once a day for the first 3 months.

I have not had any further testing as to why I miscarry so early. I am really nervous going into this new pregnancy, my Husband and I weren't really trying or tracking ovulation, I decided to test early as my doctor recommended it and was very surprised at the results. I am going in tomorrow to get the HCG blood test and medicine, is there anything else I should insist my GYN to do? He seems reluctant to run any tests or anything, but said if I miscarry for the 3rd time I would have to see a fertility specialist.

I am really not sure what to do, nervous that anything I may attempt could cause another miscarriage. Has anyone else had very early pregnancy losses?

Did you eventually have a successful pregnancy? I worry about my chances now because every time you miscarry your chances for a successful pregnancy go down.

I don't seem to have a problem getting pregnant, this is the 3rd time in 4 months, but sustaining the pregnancy is the problem.

Welcome! I am very sorry for your losses but on your pregnancy. I think the progesterone is a wonderful idea for you doctor. As far as testing goes most doctors/insurance companies won't do recurrent loss testing until after you have had 3 losses (It sucks) There are lots of ladies on here that have had multiple losses and gone on to have successful pregnancies! Just right into posting with us hun

Since your losses were on the early side the progesterone very well may be the culprit (if it's too low it will cause a miscarriage). So the fact that your doctor is going to give you a prescription for it is good.

You could ask that they test your progesterone level when they draw your hcg. If it's low, ask your doctor to draw it again after having been on the progesterone to make sure you are getting a high enough dose.

Welcome and Congrats. I am sorry for your losses but congrats on this new pregnancy. I have had 3 losses. The first loss was at 6 weeks, the second loss was very early and the third loss was at 8 weeks. I am currently pregnant. This pregnancy is going great. I am 18 weeks almost 19 weeks. Katie is right that most doctors wont do any testing until after you had 3 losses. I think having your doctor give you progesterone suppositories is a good step. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Ditto what Kate said. Took 3 losses for them to find out what was wrong with me.

Are they going to test your progestrone along with HCG just to see?

Congrats on your pg first of all! Secondly, I too think that your doc being proactive with the progesterone is a major plus! And ditto to asking if they can check that when they do your hcg draw - they won't always do that.

I have had a loss at 8 weeks and had a successful pg. I pray that the progesterone does the trick for you!

Hey everyone, first of all thanks so much for all the warm welcomes and encouragement!

I got back from the Doctor's today, had my HCG checked and I am going in 2 days to have it checked again to make sure my levels are still rising. I am a little more optimistic this time around. As far as my hormones (progesterone and estrogen) levels I am not sure if they are taking that, they just said it was a 'Beta' blood test.

Fingers crossed.
