So I went back to see my doc for a follow up today. Last week my beta's doubled in 26 hours. Today my beta's are 1637. Not quite what I expected. The doctor decided to send me for an ultrasound because I am still having spotting. The ultrasound showed nothing!!! Nothing!!! I should be 5w6d. The doctor is worried about an eptopic (SP?). Now I am really stressed. Our u/s is not the latest and greatest technology and people keep telling me that they know people who were told they couldn't see anything here at the local hospital but everything was fine when they went to the larger regional hospital. I don't know what to think.

Now I am really worried and I analyze every little feeling that I feel. Crazyness.

I guess I just needed to vent. Sorry for being so long winded.

it is still possible that they may not see anything, even at supposedly being 5w6d. What is the doubling time with your numbers today? I am sorry you are having to deal with this and I hope things take a turn for the better!

My doubling time is about 80 hours according to a calculator I found online.

I read on another website that this is actually ok, as you HCG gets higher it takes longer to double.

For now I have decided to just play it by ear and believe that it is just too early too see anything. If they don't see anything on Friday I will request to be sent to the regional hospital for further testing and a second opinion.

Was it an abdominal ultrasound? At this point those aren't as good at picking up gestational sacs.

And HcG numbers don't necessarily double every 24 or 48 hours. Those are more guidelines. The fact that it's still rising is good. And u/s's may not pick anything up this early, especially if the machine sucks.

My little guy was a late bloomer and I was 2 weeks behind for the first 8 weeks then he caught right up. I hope your little bean is just a slow starter. The numbers going up is good, T&Ps for you.

Hope everything is just fine. Hoping it was just too early to see anything.

If I remember right I think someone told me they don't normally do an ultrasound until hcg is over 10,000. If that's the case it may be why you haven't seen anything yet. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Wouldn't they have been able to tell it was an ectopic at the ultrasound?

I was told that if my HCG wasn't above 3000 they wouldn't do an u/s, so that is a good point. My T&Ps are with you!!

I woke up to bright red blood this morning. No clots, just alot of blood. I called my doctors office and I go in this afternoon to see him. No cramps really (just the normal ones from being constipated). I will update afterwards.

I am pretty sure it is over. I started passing small clots about an hour ago and I am having AF like cramps. They are mild at the moment. I am going to the doctors soon but I am not very hopeful that things will go well.

Thanks for the support.
