Well it's been a while since I've been on JM, not because I haven't wanted to, but using my phone to get on is really a pain & I just got a new computer, so I hope to be on more now...

I am really confused and am hoping you all could help me... I was at the doctor on Monday & as part of the process they did a pregnancy test which was negative. At that point I was only two days late, so I didn't think much about it, but I am never 3 days late, so I took one at home last night. The test line was visible even before the control line. Just in case though, I took another this morning & it too was positive- I then went to the doctor again & they took two tests & both were negative.

I am so confused! They ordered qualitative and quantitative hCG blood work, but am very nervous! Could the fact that I drank about 40 oz of water before they took the test there be the reason?

I am so excited to have gotten a BFP and really don't want it to have been wrong

What do you think?

The water definitely concentrated your urine. Also, the tests we have at home tend to be more sensitive than the doctors offices lately.

I agree, your intake of water could of been the reason why the test at the doctor's office was negative. Have you taken another one today?

Not since I left the doctor's office... I should get the hcg results before 4pm today, so I will know for sure one way or the other. I REALLY want to be pregnant, so it's a bit nerve wracking!

i think regardless of the water.. their tests just plain suck and are not as sensitive as they claim to be

The doctor's office tests are awful. I was told a couple of weeks ago that mine was basically negative even though the FRER I took at home were super positive. I had HCG betas drawn that same day that came back at 148.

It was very likely the water that diluted your urine, not to mention, they may have a bad batch or just very poor sensitivity...fingers crossed for you! Is that 4 EDST?? LOL!

How exciting! I hope this is a BFP for you!

I've heard that most of the urine tests they use at doctor's office are only sensitive for hcg of 100 or even higher. So it's possible that a combination of the water and their tests could be making the urine come back negative there.

I had a negative urine test on the same day I got my BFP. I bet it's a combination of the less sensitive tests and the urine concentration.

The doctor's office tests do suck, so do not worry about it. I cannot wait to hear your results!!
