Well today I went in for what I thought was going to be a boring ob appointment. I go to the specialist for an ultrasound Thursday so I didn’t expect an ultrasound. First thing they do is take me back for an ultrasound!! Baby looks great!! He has grown so much since I saw him last and he was moving and sitting Indian style!! So cute!! His heart rate was 155 bpm. Baby is measuring 13 weeks and 4days. The best part she looked at the sex and told us we are having a BOY!! I am so excited and thrilled. My dh is really happy since he was hoping for a boy. Then when I came home I felt 5 kicks today!! These were for sure kicks too I now on cloud 9. If this baby is healthy all my dreams will be coming true to have a healthy boy and a healthy girl.
His name will be Brian Jr but we are going to call him Beaux.
I was so surprised to find out today!! Also my doctor said it was a mistake on the offices fault I was not supposes to have an ultrasound today. LOL!!
Oh and we have a new baby horse born this morning! Today has been a true blessing!

Wow they were able to tell so early? I had an u/s at 12 weeks and they told me they couldn't predict the gender until 16weeks and I'm still waiting for my 20 week ultrasound to find out the gender of my baby.
18 weeks and still haven't felt movement
But I am glad to hear everything is going well !

Well they say don't go out and buy all boy stuff at this point. I go again Thursday to a perinatal doctor and they specialize in looking at u/s. So I will get a 2nd look then and I go again at 16 weeks, 18 weeks, and 22 weeks because my son had a genetic brain disorder. So it will be looked at again. Some doctors or ultrasound techs will not tell that early on our make a prediction. Although it is possible to tell, I have had a few friends find out at 12 weeks.
Is this your first baby?
Its very normal to not feel your first one tell around 18-20 weeks. I felt my first one at 19 weeks.

Yes it is my first baby and I guess I am getting a bit impatient. I have a cousin who is pregnant with her 4th child and found out the gender at 16 1/2 weeks.
My OB is great, but I hate having to wait - I'm glad to hear they will recheck things for you though and hopefully it will stay a boy!

Congratulations!!! I have my first trimester screen coming up at 13 weeks. I wish they could tell me the sex, but I know it's really early. Congrats on the boy!
Jessghetti - With my first, I didn't feel anything until close to 23 weeks. It was so unnerving. It turned out that my placenta was in the front and it was shielding all the baby's kicks, so that was why. Once she got big enough to do some damage though, there was no mistaking those kicks.
I was told mine was a boy at 14w, but they told me that they were not so sure. Sure enough he stayed a boy though and it looked just like that! I hope they are correct, and I LOVE the name!!!
