So since yesterday I have had some very painful back pain around my right shoulder-blade. I have tried massages, Tylenol and recently a heating pad.

The heating pad did help some but hasn't taken away all the pain, I am trying to hold off taking too much Tylenol because it's hard on the liver.

My question is, should I be concerned? The pain is excruciating at times and I worry about stressing the baby (I have problems with my blood pressure, even though I am on medication for it.) I am not sure what happened, I don't remember doing anything strenuous and just woke up with this pain yesterday morning.

I am trying to hold off going to the ER since it is Easter and if it's not better by Monday checking in with a doctor.

I have this upper back pain and it's like a radiating pain between my shoulder blades and it hurts so bad it makes me nausous and want to throw up. I seriously feel like I can't breathe when it's happening. I have mini attacks and it usually lasts a couple of hours.

From my personal experience and what I've read and talked to some of the MDs and RNs and my work... It's gallbladder pain. When your pregnant your gallbladder is very over active and can cause A LOT of pain... Especially on your right side by your shoulder blade like your describing. Watch what you eat. Fatty foods, salty foods etc. Those foods can make your gallbladder worse.

I don't know if that's your problem but it sure sounds like it.

That could be a good possibility, I never had really much problems with my galbladder before pregnancy - but I haven't been eating as healthfully as I should as of recent. It almost feels like my ribcage on my right side is hurting - but I have had alot of gas/bloating and bowel problems in the past few days too.

I have had severe upper back pain too, but I do not have a gall bladder anymore. The last 2 days all I have been able to do is lay on the couch with a heating pad. I think mine is more of the extra weight killing me. If I walk too much, it hurts. If I sit in the car too long, it kills me. So I feel you.

I hope you feel better soon! I would mention it to your doctor and see what they think. Maybe there is something they can give you.

I have horrible back pain but it's much lower, so no help. How are you feeling today? If it's not better, call your doctor.

I'm doing much better today, thank you! I am glad it sort of resolved itself, it was still achy yesterday but today it seems to be pretty much gone.

I am not sure exactly what happened or what I did but at least for now it's gone.
