new to this site so I am still trying to figure out what all the codes mean.

I am new to this site, so I am going to try and make this long story of mine short ( so people will want to read it ). I have a Son who will be 4 in October. Last year I had 3 miscarriages.
I) March 2005- no heartbeat at 1st appt. I was 12 or 13 weeks/ had D & C
2) August 2005-started heavy bleeding around 9 weeks / fetus came out on it own
3) November 2005-started heavy bleeding 2 days after positive test.

This year I have been meeting with a doctor to try and find out if they could find the reason for my many miscarriages, I under went several different test. Everything came back looking good.

Not plannned ( but very thankful ) got pregnant again which I am now currently 7 weeks pregnant
since the miscarriages I have been really intune with my body so I knew I was pregnant even before my missed period ( morning sickness ) The day after what would have been my period I took a test, line was really lite, so when I got home that night I took another one, line was there lite but it was there. I was so excited but still really scared at the same time since we never found out the reason for the miscarriages.

I called my doctor. he had me go in for a HCG level the next day I was so glad that he did not make me wait. over the 1st 2 weeks that I had known I went in 3 different times to make sure the # was rising. July 7th I got a call from the doctor and they told me the # was going up and was right where it should be.

I went in today( 7weeks ) for an early ultrasound since I am highrisk ....SO SCARED all morning long.
outcome of the ultrasound. Baby is growing at the right pace and their was a healthy heartbeat 129
I am so glad things are finally going well. I have a few more weeks before I am out of the clear.

Just wondering if I should still be worried?

Has anyone else been in this position?

Please post with any adivse or comments it would really help me out a lot

Congratulations on your pregnancy!! That's wonderful!!

Statistically, once you see the fetal heartbeat on the u/s, your chance of miscarriage drops dramatically- to around 10%. Once you can hear it on a doppler, it drops to even less...at about 5%. Did you have early u/s's with your 2nd and 3rd pregnancies?

I wasn't quite in your situation, as I only had 2 miscarriages, and both were before I had my first child. But I'll be praying that this is a sticky bean!! Enjoy every minute of this pregnancy!!

thank you very much for your support
and congrat to you on your beautiful baby girl

No this is the 1st time I had an early ultrasound done. I switched doctors my previous doctor treated me more like $$$$ than a person and really did not care about my feelings.

and I actually got to hear the heartbeat also today. that make me feel really good.

this new doctor which is so awesome seem to be treating me very well.

I will be sure to keep you updated on my pregnancy ( I am sure I will be on JM ALOT )

Did you ever find the cause of your 2 miscarriages? Well there seems to be hope after having such a hard time.

No, we had blood work done but never found a cause. Part of me wishes we HAD found a cause so I'd have had something to blame it on and also something to fix...along with a way of preventing future m/c's, know what I mean? But I'm thankful that there IS nothing wrong at the same time. I'm still afraid of m/c'ing in the future.

Hi Newbie!!

Congrats on your pregnancy!!

It looks like you and I have shared the same number of losses. I too had 3 with one D&C, and at similar times. I actually went to find out what the problem could be, and with all the tests, probing and probbing, and uncomfortable exams everything came back NEG!! So, hopefully that will put your mind at ease.
My fertility doc decided to put me on Progestrone immedialty after ovulation. I did one cycle of giving myself injections of Follisum & Overdrill just for precaution (now, they didn't find anything wrong with me) They said, that they'd just try this route and see if it happens. And counsidently it happened. They had checked my progestrone level in the past along with everything else- and as I said NEG to everything, but doing this they had said "statically this is what worked for people who they couldn't diagnose" and hear I am.. just about 2 months to go!!

As far as being worried-- I don't know if that ever really goes away. Honestly I can tell you in my experience that after the 16week mark, I did start to feel better. (though I suffered from sever MS for 20weeks straight) After that your worries change- mine did. Now I just cross my fingures and hope everything will trun out fine.

It sounds like things are going in the right direction for you, a good hb, and a good position where the baby is. I can also tell you with my 4th (now) pregnancy I am much more relaxed because I just kept telling myself, "what will be will be" its a hard one to swallow, but it worked for me.

If you have any questions please feel free to email me, at

In all honesty, you'll probably worry less, but I doubt that you'll stop worrying altogether! I've just found that there's a little nagging doubt in the back of my mind all day long. I can't get rid of it, but I DID start getting excited over this pregnancy eventually. I was just too scared to.

I had many losses. No good reason was given to me for any of them. One doc tried to pass it off as, "Well, your other docs have said that you'd never get pregnant at all, so consider yourself lucky." Hmph. They've never figured out what's wrong with me, but I seem to have produced a healthy baby this time around. Only a few weeks left!

I hope that this pregnancy turns out well for you--it sounds like it's going perfectly so far!!! Congrats!!!

I felt the same way about my miscarriages WHY????
since I have a 3 year old already and hopefully this pregnancy will go ok ( so far so good )
then I dont think we are going to try to have any more, the m/c are to hard to deal with.

I think once it sets in that I did see and hear the heartbeat this time, that I will let myself enjoy it a little more than I am right now.

sorry to hear about your losses...I don't wish that kinda of pain on anyone. I think since doc see it all the time they try and downsize it, but it dont work like that.

well congrats on your soon coming baby. are you having a boy or girl? do you have any other children?

try and relax once the baby comes it will be hard to find time....

I am sorry about your losses.

You probably shouldn't be worried but you probably will be at least for a while. I had an mc with my first pg at 8 weeks and I worried insanely with this pg at least until the end of the first trimester. I still worry but less so. When i was 10 weeks I got a home doppler and I listen to the heartbeat whenever I stress out too much - hearing a healthy heartbeat always helps.

I hope you have a wonderful pregnancy!

You can rent a doppler for about $30/month. Good quality ones are expensive to buy. Just look on the internet for who rents them in your area.
