I might ask about this vaccine while in the hospital. I need a tetnus shot too but I am not sure if that one is ok to get while breastfeeding and such.

I read that article last night though. It is so sad...she was such a pretty little girl. I cannot imagine watching your baby go through all that and then take their last breaths

The shot they give in the hospital for pertussis (whopping cough) is the dTaP, which includes the tetanus shot. I assume it's safe for breastfeeding because otherwise it would be bad that it's offered to new mothers all the time.
