So I am unsure how to take today's doctor visit. I guess the baby's belly is measuring in the 95th percentile, which means between him and my fluid levels being at 25 it seems the diabetes has now affected the baby. My doctor is extremely worried about me delivering him naturally should I make it to 38 weeks. I guess with his belly being so big he can get stuck or damage his shoulders. Also, with so much fluid I am at high risk for a prolasped cord. If I am to go before 38 weeks, then she is going to let me try naturally, otherwise she is pushing for a c-section. I really don't want an unnessecary c-section, but with all the risks I do not want anything bad to happen to the baby also. For now, I get monitored with u/s until 37 weeks of pregnancy to determine if my meds and diet help him recover a bit from the diabetes, and if not, c-section it is. I told her if I was getting a c-section she might as well tie my tubes while she is in there, but I feel terrible to say that I am terrified of doing that in case something goes wrong with the baby. Is that wrong of me?

I REALLY want this pregnancy to be over so that I can just have him in my arms. It is just with my panic disorder, everything terrifies me. Also, she said that the other doctor is brunt and does have a bad bedside manner, but is also excellent at what she does. I guess there has been other complaints about her. She asked if I could just bare it for 4 more weeks. So I guess I will try. Also, got an u/s of my heart today and it kept racing and then slowing down for no reason. I should get the results early next week. I have no idea if that will come out good or not. I do need to see an eye doctor though because she is worried about my eyes with the diabetes. Bleh.

I go in next Friday for another biophysical, and then my regular appointment is the week after that.

I'm sorry the doctor has such a horrible bedside manner. We have one in my practice that I avoid for that reason.

What size were the other kids? Unless they were over 10pds, I'm not sure why she is pushing you so hard. I know with me, u/s are off by over 2pds though the opposite way. (the worst so far said I was having 5.5lber and next day he was 9lbs). I agree shoulder issues are concerns however I know my OB doesn't recommend any induction until 38 weeks and usually pushes for me to be induced around then because of history of baby sizes.

I'm sorry that you're dealing with so much, mama! Thinking of you and Layne.

Both of my other kids were around 7lbs at just 37 weeks. The reason she is pushing for a c-section at 38 weeks is because of my diabetes and the fact that I have so much fluid. Both my regular doctor and high risk seem very concerned. None of us seem to think that I will make my due date and there is a fear of me going into labor on my own. She said if I go into labor at 37 weeks there is a chance she'll let me go naturally, but not to get my hopes up.

You've been having a rough go of this pregnancy lately, you poor thing. I'll keep my fingers crossed that his belly gets better and you can deliver naturally. Not too much longer!
