Anyone have low progesterone (like an 8) and get on supplements and carry to term?

Just got a call from my doctor about my beta hcg level as well as the progesterone and so now I'm freaking out about it.

They told me they don't feel comfortable prescribing anything yet just in case i have an ectopic. They want to watch what my HCG does and if it doubles appropriately they will go ahead and prescribe it.

My hcg was a 62 today so I guess we'll see what it is on Wednesday. Until then....I'm walking on egg shells!

I hope your levels double when they recheck them. As far as the progesterone I will be on it from 3 dpo until either I get a BFP or AF. And if I get a BFP then I'm on it until 13 weeks. I know there are some women who start it when their levels are low too. I know it's hard not to stress. We are here for you hun.

I was 5w4d pregnant when I had my first blood work done with my midwife. (I suspected low progesterone all along, but my orignal doc acted like I was crazy.) My progesterone came back at 4.4! I was terrified, but my midwife reassured me that it would be ok. She immediately put me on prometrium and well . . here I am at 27 weeks and Molly is a star kicker.

I have low progesterone during pregnancy. When I found out (I don't know what my level was) it was too late to save that pregnancy but my next pregnancy I took it after I ovulated and continued through my first trimester and got my beautiful baby boy. This last pregnancy I started taking it when found out I was pregnant (About 3w5d) becasue I hadn't been TTC, so I didn't start it after O. The baby passed, but it had nothing to do with my progesterone (baby died at 10 weeks from me having a kidney infection.)

Prometrium REALLY works when it is needed. Progeterone problems are actualy rather rare, and often low progesterone is simply the sign of a pregnancy miscarrying for another reason....

8 isn't horrible for 4 weeks 0 days. Hopefully prometrium helps your baby!

I suffer from low progesterone also. We found out that was my reason for having issues conceiving also because it caused a weak ovulation. My first beta at 4w1d was 40. I have no idea about the progesterone level, as I started my progesterone as soon as I got my BFP. I'd force the issue with the progesterone and get started ASAP. I was also told not to get my hopes up about this pregnancy and I am 34 weeks now.

I emailed my patient coordinator and told them I would feel more comfortable starting it now. Thankfully we caught it early.

It makes me wonder what my other pregnancies were like....they didn't monitor that at all.

I would feel more comfortable starting as soon as I have a BFP. That's what I did the last two times.

BTW I have blood clotting disorders as well. We found out with our last loss a little over a year ago, then I was on baby asprin and blood thinning injections during this last pregnancy (along with prometrium) and she was born happy and healthy almost 2 weeks ago

I ALSO was on Progesterone till 12 weeks! Cause I was tested on a previous loss and I had low progesterone... Well I didn't think we were pregnant this cycle and I didn't track so I didn't test till I was like 6 weeks along? Haha (my periods were always messed up due to PCOS so a "late period" didn't occur to me" Well anyway I tested and had an US and found out I was like 6ish weeks along and then started progesterone. So a little later than most people start it (usually people 3 DPO or BFP right away) and I'm now 33+ weeks!!! And she is completely healthy! But I am on baby aspirin and extra folic acid as well. I don't recall what my progesterone was at first, but doc put me on right away to play it safe. I hope you can get your hands on some asap. If not, I'll send you what I have left. Just let me know.

i had low levels as well and started taking it at 8wks was on it till 24 weeks for a little extra help im now 33 weeks and she is one healthy baby best of luck to you !

Mine was 10 with this pregnancy.... 32 with my daughter so they put me on promtrium right away.


My ectopic the level was 5.5 and dropping fast and my HCG was very low (12) and doubling very slow

Just wanted to update you all. They put in the script today for the suppositories, 200 mg. Gotta wait until tomorrow so they can compound them and then I can make the 25 minute drive to go get them. LOL.
