Olivia's birthday party is on Saturday but her actual birthday was today (is my baby SERIOUSLY 1 already!?!) and I had to get a video of her eating her birthday dessert at the restaurant. I'm really "mean" (as my MIL says) and I only let her eat good, wholesome foods - treats are VERY rare, so I had to get this one on video Enjoy.

You're not mean, you are being a good momma by not letting her indulge (and at such a young age too) granted I know many mothers probably like seeing their baby enjoy an ice cream or candy - but it doesn't have to be a common thing in their diet.

Anyways she is adorable, it's really cute to see how she eats it. Have you tried seeing how she uses silverware?

She adorable and it looks like she liked it! (And I don't think babies need to fill their small tummies with junk food, so I don't think you're "mean".)

Olivia! May 16th is a great day for a birthday!

Also, be as "mean" as you want when it comes to your child's health and nutrition. I think you're doing a great thing!

I'm gonna be the same way! There is no reason to give your baby sweets all the time... They don't need it! My MIL spoils my nephew with sweets and I'm gonna have to really tell her not to do that with my little girl cause I want it to be a TREAT not an everyday thing.

Thanks and yep I've tried giving her silverware, she doesn't do much with it. She holds the spoon/fork whatever it may be in one hand, and picks the food up with her fingers on the other hand lol. I do usually try to let her eat with those but half the fun of birthday cakes/desserts is makign a mess

I'm having that problem with my MIL. She babysits Olivia during the day and she constantly gives her juice even though I've said NO juice. There is no need for it. And the other day she decided to tell me they went out and weren't going to be home in time for lunch so she gave Olivia CHINESE FOOD. I was livid. There is NOTHING wrong with having treats, but that's exactly what they should be. And things like juice I see no need for at all for my child.
