Just got back from the scan. I was terrified since this pg is going "too smooth". However we have a perfect little peanut in there. Little bugger wouldn't stay still for a second so it took 3 times longer than needed but I didn't care.

I ended up getting a newer test done for the genetic instead of the normal one. Anyone else have the MaterniT21 PLUS test done?
It is suppose to be more accurate than the old one and looks for Downs and 2 forms of trisomy (13 and 18). I was debating since it was $500 out of pocket but like DH said, I was willing to spend $2000 for amnio since that's our deductible and it's out of pocket until it if they found anything wrong.

Need to figure out how to scan with the scanner here at work so I can share...

Yay for a great scan! I have no idea which type I had, but the 1st trimester screen typically does detect for the 3 most common trisomies (13, 18 and 21 (Downs)). They didn't ask me about the newer one, so I assume I had an older one...lol!

I have heard it mentioned on here, but was not offered it. I had the regular one done. Congrats on super healthy, active baby!!

Sorry for the late posting of the pictures..

My favorite one of sucking the thumb. Not really clear but it was totally cute.

Other profile one:

I did more research on the test. It's still not FDA passed yet and many states aren't offering it. Though testing is showing 96% accuracy for the three. I'm glad I opted.

I have no idea which I had either, but it must of been the old one, the check the spinal fluid and with the blood test they determined the chances of 3 most common trisomies.

Baby is already cute!

Cute little baby! I've heard of several women who have had that test and it's supposed to be highly accurate. I think you made a good choice.
