This evening, I started contracting. I didn't think much of it at first, assumed it was the start of Braxton Hicks with this pregnancy. However, then I had a period of almost an hour where they were coming fairly regularly and lasting for up to 15 seconds at a time. I called the on call doctor just to be on the safe side. Since they weren't painful and I didn't have any other symptoms of early labor, she told me to lay down for awhile and drink several glasses of water. She said if they didn't calm down, to call back and they would admit me to the hospital. Thankfully, 32oz of water later and after about an hour and a half in bed, things calmed down. Phew! I thought I was getting plenty of fluids, but I guess I need to make a conscious effort to up the intake throughout the day so that this doesn't happen again. VERY relieved everything is back to normal! The next 19 weeks cannot go by quickly enough... I just want this little one safe in my arms!

Hard not to be scared when that happens, but Im happy that its all calmed down for you. I had that many times with Mia's pregnancy, from 17wks till birth.

Glad things calmed down for you. That has to be scary. I'm not even sure I had BH with my first pregnancy and I didn't really have any labor (emergency c-section) so I can imagine that was scary!

I had this problem the other day after getting back from a walk. I started having alot of random contractions that were painful, the only difference was I had been drinking a ton of water that day. I was really worried but they finally stopped thankfully.

I am glad to hear you are doing okay though.

I'm so happy resting & drinking water did the trick! I also have tons of issues drinking enough water - I forget how important it is. I'll be praying that all stays uneventful for you!
