Hi Ladies! Thank you so much for your well wishes! Jamison Anthony arrived 10/4/12 at 3:58am. He was born at 36W5D. My full birth story with pics is on our blog: Josiah Earl Richŕrd
As of this evening, he is doing really well in the special care nursery. He has a nasal canula to help with his oxygen, is on monitors, and has an iv in his foot delivering fluids. They are hoping he can try to nurse tomorrow, and I have started pumping so that they can at least give him some colostrum tomorrow even if he is still a little too weak for the breast. All in all, he is doing REALLY great! He has "wet lungs" from the pushing phase of my labor going so fast, but no infection. They will take a second chest xray in the morning and decide how to proceed from there, but seem pretty confident that he will be able to room in with me by the end of the day tomorrow. We will be here until Saturday, possibly longer if Jamison needs it. I am EXTREMELY sore... the kid had a 14 inch head, and I am very swollen and bruised. Only one small vaginal tear, so just a few stitches. I am slowly feeling a little better, and am very thankful that although we didn't PLAN to do a vbac, I get to avoid a c/s recovery!!!
