For Mommies: did you get a video monitor for baby's room? If yes, do you like it? Was it worth the money?
For pregnant ladies: Do you plan on getting a video monitor or do you already have one?
I didn't get a video monitor. We found just a regular monitor that we used with our first child and I loved it so I just bought the same one for Jacob's room. I was afraid that i would lay in bed all night and watch the video monitor.
Thank you *Kiliki* for my beautiful siggy
We bought one when DD#2 was born. I ended up doing exactly what you were afraid of and we stopped using it and went back to the old fashion types. We are still using the same ones now and they are 16+ years old.
We ended up using the video in the playroom as they got older. Best spy cameras..Caught my nephew breaking stuff and then denying he did. Thankfully his mom watched him also..

We have never had any kind of monitor. We cosleep, and I stay near her room when she naps, if I sneak away (usually I lie down with her and surf internets on my phone). We have a small house and it just never seemed necessary to get one.
We co-slept until 19 months. Now that he is in his own room (and toddler bed) we love the video monitor. We usually turn the video off at night unless he starts crying, then we we peek to make sure he is OK and turn it back off. We did watch him a lot when we first moved him, but it gets boring after a while
