I never did figure that out! I counted week 12 as the completion of my 1st trimester and beginning of the 2nd.

12 weeks. That is when the developmental stage of the first trimester has finished.

I usually go with 12 weeks just because it is a nice number that has a lot of factors (2,3,4,6). 13 is prime and often considered unlucky.

It's all arbitrary anyway isn't it??

If you divide 40 weeks by 3 it's 13.3 weeks for each trimester so I went with 13 weeks but felt emotionally better after 12 weeks because developmentally of the reason Erica mentioned.

I went with the end of 12 weeks beginning of 13th week as the start of the second trimester.

This is how I did it, I counted the beginning of the 13th week as the start of the 2nd though because it was easier to remember But, I am a "technical" person, so it was always 13.3 since tri is 3...lol!
