I took folic acid throughout TTC and most of the first tri but I am not bothering anymore. I take an iron+B vitamins liquid supplement occasionally when I feel like I need it and have not been eating much red meat. I also take a calcium-magnesium drink powder when I have not been getting much dairy or I feel achey. But overall I avoid multivitamins and especially prenatals. They all make me sick and IMO there is no evidence that vitamins do any good unless they address specific deficiencies. My doctors have always been fine with my self designed regimens

folic acid in the first several weeks after conception by far being their biggest concern.
