Hello Ladies -

Some of you I know from the TTC, TTColder and TTCAL boards and recommended I stop by here for support. I'm a little hesitant coming here since I don't really feel pregnant. We just found out we're expecting a few days ago. We've been trying for a second child for a long time and were convinced we couldn't get it right when we got pregnant in August. But it didn't last.

Now, I'm constantly talking myself into believing this pregnancy isn't going to last either. Everytime I feel a twinge or cramp, I run to the bathroom looking for spotting or worse.

I have a million questions. I don't even know where to start. But I guess the first and most important is should I even be here? It's so early, I haven't even called my Doc yet.

And the second question I have is, any of you ladies in the early days have / had cramps? I'm cramping like I'm getting AF. It comes and goes and is never bad. But it makes me nuts thinking something is wrong.

You are very welcome to be here! I'm sorry you're feeling the cramping right now, that can be nerve-wracking even if you haven't experienced a prior loss. Some women experience implantation bleeding/cramping when the fertilized egg is implanting, which is generally 6-12 days after conception...would that fit what's happening with you, do you think?
Sending sticky dust your way...I hope this is your rainbow baby and that in about 8 or 9 months you'll be holding him/her in your arms!
I totally understand having the feelings that you're going to lose this pregnancy, too...I had the same feelings for about the first 10 weeks or so until awhile after my previous loss date. I kept expecting to miscarry any day...I even would get mad that it was taking so long because I didn't want to get attached to the baby and then lose it again. Finally I started to get more secure in the pregnancy and have less worry that I'd lose it. I never stopped worrying though, my worries just changed to other things.

Being pregnant after a loss is so difficult, i worry alot too. I had a loss and then i had my son and he was a preemie, next came my little girl and then another loss. Im currently 19 weeks pregnant with our 3 rd baby, we should be having twins but we lost one at almost 10 weeks. Even at 19 weeks im still worried about most everything. The good thing is that the further you get in your pregnancy you have more happy thoughts and less scary ones.

I was also very crampy in the begining of all my pregnancies. With my son i actualy had a moc period with cramping for the first 3 months and so i didnt know i was pregnant until i was 8 weeks.

You should definitely be here!! Welcome and Congratulations on your pregnancy. With my last pregnancy I cramped alot in the first few weeks and it felt just like AF was coming. I was convinced that I wasn't even pregnant and even after the dr confirmed the cramps continued and I knew I was going to lose the baby. But here we are 17 months later and I have a sweet 8 month old. Please ask us anything you need to, that's what we are here for. I agree, you should be here. I felt the same way. I didn't even want to post at all when i found out i was pregnant this time. I have had three consecutive losses this year and each time i came on and posted, I lost it within a week. My last loss was at 8w but ultrasound at 6w5d due to some spotting and it showed i was a full week behind with a hb of 98 so they prepared me for the worst. I had another u/s at 7w2 and the hb was gone. I miscarried at 8w1d. my first two losses were very early at 4w5d and 3w6d. I too am in denial. I constantly run to the ladies room to check for blood. I constantly feel a twinge and think...ok here it comes. I have literally convinced myself that I am going to lose this one and I am 100 percent terrified. i actually scheduled an ultrasound for monday 6w4d so I can see if there is even anything in there...I am so fearful of a blighted ovum. I just want to know something. I totally understand your fear. yes, stay and talk....we all need it! looking forward to hearing from you

Yes, you belong here! All of the worries you're having are unfortunately normal with PAL. It's just really hard to get through the early weeks.

I also have a lot of cramping in early pregnancy. I remember with my last pregnancy it lasted for most of the first trimester. It is normal, but can be really unsettling. I try to rest if I can when I'm feeling crampy- it just helps ease my mind a little to feel like I'm doing something about it.

Thank you so much ladies for your wonderful support. Everyday seems to get better and I really took heart with your remarks. I have 10 days to go before I'm passed where I was last time and I'm really looking forward to getting past that milestone.
