A year ago yesterday, DH and I found out Marsi's heart wasn't functioning properly. We made the hardest decision to choose heart surgery. I am one proud mom of the toddler I have beating all the odds.

Marsi is definitely an on the go little girl! The puzzles are at the library. We are starting to do toddler time and what-not so that she has more things to do. I will start taking her to the swimming pool when her suit comes in soon. She gets her shoes and asks to go out more than I want to. Busy busy!

Thanks Lori. She just chugged through everything that has been placed in front of her. She is one of the happiest children that I have met. Yesterday she was climbing up the stairs on the playground and going down the slide all by herself. Even today she asked for a banana all by herself. What a year has it been!

Wow that must have been so hard for you. How old was she when she had to have surgery? She must have been pretty small! Good job for choosing the hard but right thing for your precious baby girl. She's beautiful!

She was 5 months and 2 days old when she had surgery. We definitely made the right choice. She could have had a catheter procedure, but it was determined that wouldn't have worked because of the size of the PDA. It had to be surgically repaired.
