I had my NT Scan this morning and baby looked great. The darn little thing was standing on it's head so it took forever for the tech to get the measurements. She started out doing a abdominal ultrasound and couldn't get baby to move, so she had me walk around and jump up and down trying to get baby to move but baby just wouldn't budge. So then she did a vaginal ultrasound and was afraid that she wouldn't get it that way but thankfully baby moved enough for her to the them. The fluid at the back of the neck was 1.4mm and dr said below 2 mm was a really good sign. And baby had a nasal bone which is also a good sign. Baby was measuring about a week ahead of time so the High Risk dr is recommending that we change my due date. I see my regular OB next Wednesday so I guess he will decide whether to change it or not. I thought I was pretty sure on when I ovulated but now I'm not so sure. Baby is measuring exactly with my LMP but I thought I ovulated around day 21 but now I wonder if I was wrong.

We did decide to go ahead and do the Materni21 testing to make sure that baby has no chromosomal problems plus that will tell us the gender. We will have the results back in 2 1/2 weeks so I should know then what we are having. i'm pretty sure baby is healthy but knowing or sure with that test will be a nice reassurance.

I go back next month to see the High Risk dr again. I thankfully really liked him. I guess due to what they call Advanced Maternal Age (which I totally hate that term) I am considered high risk and will see him several times through my pregnancy.

here are some pics.

Oh wow your finding out the gender in 2-1/2 weeks! That's great!! I love the pictures! Your baby is already cheek pinching adorable. How does a baby look THAT cute at 13 weeks?! It's very strange how babies measure ahead like that. I'm 99% sure when I ovulated and my baby is measuring about a week ahead also. I wonder if they will change your date? Hmm.. maybe you will have a valentines day baby?

That's all great news, what a great appointment.

Yay for a great appointment! Love the u/s pics and can't wait to hear what you are having!

I measured about a week ahead with Addy, they kept telling me a conception date and I said, I didn't even DTD around that time, so that can't be right...lol! But, they went with the DD to go with my LMP and my cycles were always around 31-32 days, they went off of the u/s and 28 day cycle. It's amazing how much they still have to go to "perfect" the technology

I didn't realize you were advanced maternal age either, you look younger than I am and I am still a couple of years away...lol! I HATE that term

Thanks Carey. I hate that term also. It sucks.

Amy I don't know if they will change my due date or not. I'm going to talk to my regular dr next week. I'm almost positive of when I ovulated because I was temping but I wonder since I had low progesterone if it would have taken a few days for my temp to increase up. I just don't know. Now it's got me wondering.

Marsi was always measuring ahead on her ultrasounds and I know exactly when I ovulated for her. I am so glad you had a good appointment! I love the pictures.

Beautiful little baby!! So happy your NT went perfect! Did you have an early u/s? One around 6-8wks? If so, use those dates, not this one. At this stage baby is growing in it's own spurts and it's not as accurate as the early ones. By 12wks, my babys measured 1wk ahead, by 28wks they sometimes measure 2wks+! but all my early scans correlated with O date. Either way, baby is thriving, that is the most important thing!

Lori I did have an ultrasound and baby was one day ahead so I will definitely ask my dr about that.

Great news! When they did your NT scan did they also do blood work (first trimester screen or sequential screen)? Are you choosing to do MaterniT21 on top of that?

I had several early scans which baby matched dates, then at NT mine was one week ahead too. They wanted to change my date and I reminded them of the earlier scans- and the fact that I was under fertility treatments so my O was monitored! It's funny how they want to base everything on the scan! Yes dr- sometimes mama is right and scan is wrong, lol.

I'm very excited for you! I hope your results come fast!

I did the NT Scan and then talked to the dr about doing the blood work for the first trimester screening or just going ahead and doing the Marterni21 test so we decided to forgo the blood work for the first trimester screening and just do the materni21.
