So I'd felt sporadic movements for a few weeks, but this past week I'm feeling movement regularly. Sometimes it's a little punch or kick and sometimes it's clearly a flip. But what the heck are babies doing in there? When you think about a brand new newborn, they just lay there! What's up with the party in the tummy? Does everyone's baby move this much??!!
Haha! Some babies are pretty active! I've heard it put that, babies can move pretty easily in the amniotic fluid, but after they're born and don't have the water supporting their body weight, they have to build up their muscles again before they can move so much. Plus, a newborn baby is still capable of crawling up Mama's belly to her nipple, and latching on all by itself. I'd say that's quite an accomplishment for a newborn!
My first wasn't that active but my second was crazy active. And he was the most active in the middle of the night. I would get up to pee and never get back to sleep because he would decide to have a party in my belly.
Thank you *Kiliki* for my beautiful siggy
