So my genetic counselor called today and for some reason they was not enough fetal blood in my sample for them to do the materni21 test so the results were inconclusive and they could not tell me definitively if baby was healthy or what the sex was. Basically she said that they couldn't do the test because my blood had 3.4%fetal blood and they needed atleast 4% to do the test. So she went ahead and scheduled my ultrasound for September 17 at 8:00 am. They will check baby for soft markers for chromosomal problems and we will find out the gender. She said that based on my First trimester screening results which were 1/1250 for trisomy 21 and 1/3000 for trisomy 18 and 13 baby should be fine but of course the problems with the materni21 test have me concerned. DH is of course not worried at all but he never worries.
So I will let you know after my appointment how the baby is doing and what the gender.
Thank you *Kiliki* for my beautiful siggy
