I had another ultrasound this morning for them to check on baby. They couldn't get a good look at his kidneys last time and they wanted to look at his heart again since my last ultrasound was a bit early. Both of his kidneys looked great this morning and his heart looked good also. The dr was having a hard time seeing his right ventricle because baby boy had his arm in front of it. His left ventricle looked great and the dr said he was pretty sure that the right looked fine but he has me coming back in 4 weeks for another ultrasound so they can get a better look. And he is definitely a boy. He is not shy at all about showing his stuff..lol.
Yay for a great appointment and getting more ultrasounds! I'm so envious of the ladies who are getting frequent scans. I have gotten 3 so far, but the ultrasound tech is so greedy with the screen. She has it facing her the whole time and lets me get a quick look at the end. It drives me crazy! I have even asked if I can watch and she says "I will show you once I get all my measurements" but then I only get a minute or less of viewing time. At least DH can stand and look over her shoulder and see our little Spartan. I'm thankful I at least get pictures to look at.
Thank goodness for your wonderful appointment and Dr! Your little man is adorable
Thanks Amy. I do love my drs. This was the High Risk Dr this morning. I don't think I am really high risk but they say because of my age I am high risk.
I can't believe that they don't let you see the screen. My dr's have a tv up on the wall that you can watch while they do the scan. Now the the u/s techs don't do alot of talking and don't explain much during the scan which always drives me crazy. But this morning the dr did a scan also to see if he could get a better look at baby boys heart and he was great. He explained everything to me as he was looking at it and let me ask questions while he was scanning. He told me not to worry which was nice and that he was just being over cautious which is fine with me. I would rather have an overly cautious dr than one that wasn't.
Aw so sweet Melissa! Glad everything looks good.
Amy, that would suck not to be able to see! I would be rather annoyed. With Kody they had the screen up on the wall too so I could see. It was a toss up with the technicians, though. One was really great and would tell me everything he was looking at and doing, and others were just silent the whole time and not personable at all. I hate that. At least make small talk, jeez.
I had a different dr when I got my gender scan with Clyde. It was awesome because they had a screen on the wall that I could watch while they did their thing on their little monitor. I could see him kicking both his legs at the same time like a little frog. I loved it! I wish the dr office I see now had that. It doesn't seem like it would cost very much money at all to get a second screen installed.
