Hi ladies. I was away but am back now. SO and I are married everything was beautiful.

This week I have a consult with a perinatologist. My group makes it mandatory since I have had thyroid issues in the preg. I hate the fact I have to see the specialist. I'm scared to hear any bad news. And, I feel very protective of the baby- I don't want this specialist poking at my baby. Yes- it's a specialist, but I have trust issues with doctors. And just getting the appt has been difficult. Apparently their office is very busy. I need to know that I'm not just a number- this baby means ALOT, so dr perinatologist better have some bedside manners...

Hugs Sunrise! (sorry I either don't know or can't remember your first name.) I can understand being leery of doctors. I'm not as trusting as I used to be, either. Be sure you speak up if you feel things are not being handled well. And feel free to ask for a different doctor if you don't like the one you got. I hope you end up loving him though and that it goes really great.
Oh and congratulations on your marriage!!

Congratulations on your Marriage! Perfectly normal to be so protective. I hope your new doc had a good bedside manner, because that is extremely important. I'm in the same boat, I have specialists all over the place and they all want a piece of me.

Take care of yourself and yes, definitely, speak up for yourself!

Congrats on both getting married and the LO. I found the nice thing about seeing the perinatologist as opposed to the midwife I saw was the specialist took all the time I needed. I was in his office for over an hour. So I hope you have a good doctor, and like the others said, if not ask for another one. Wishing you much luck.

Aside from the RE I saw, I never met a specialist that would take their time with you. So I'm happy to read your experience. Thanks for sharing! Maybe there's hope that this dr won't be... Yucky at the bedside. I'm hoping that the consult will end in just that- a consult- without the need to see them again!

Congratulations on your marriage. I hope your appointment goes ok. I have been seeing my regular OB and a High Risk OB this pregnancy and I think the High Risk OB is wonderful. He is very attentive and I never feel rushed and he stays with me until all my questions are answered and he helps ease my fears. I hope you have someone like him. Some dr's rush you through and I can't stand that. Hopefully you will have a great experience. Let us know how your appointment goes.
